Anybody know when we're likely to get Bryan's interview? Really loving his work so far and looking forward to seeing what his future plans are.

About time. Though I am dreading it tbh.

Though some of the storylines have been good, I still think it's lacking something. Even bringing in the Roscoes has not changed anything. I still cannot really warm to them for some reason.

It's little things that are holding the show back IMO.

The whole going back to 2006/7 thing will only work if the right characters are there. For example with John Paul, the whole appeal of the character was his storyline with Craig. Even when Craig had left it was a matter of time before he returned as it was a natural conclusion to the JP storyline. Bringing him back alone has left him in no mans land, and I find myself simply not caring anymore about characters he mostly doesn't relate with, and the way they ended the whole Craig storyline was unrealistic and short. (Not to mention they have completely changed his character)

Clare's return was also poor, she used to be a brilliant character as she was complex and had proper relationships with characters to go with her evilness. Now she's just a pantomime villain who stays out of the open and only has one side to her.

Finally, the main thing the show is missing for me is more realistic, down to earth and varied storylines. How many times has someone been stabbed/shot/run over/killed/held hostage etc. this year? It's becoming boring and isn't even anything like what happens in a village. The storylines I've always enjoyed most are the real-life issue ones, like Hannah's bulimia/anorexia, domestic abuse, Jp/Craig, Esther's bullying & suicide attempt, even Tony's cancer so far etc. etc.

More of them and less of the crazy stuff would be brilliant. The Sinead stuff coming up looks good!

I agree with parts of what you're saying. I also think it's a mistake to take things back to the 06/07 era, I think Kirkwood wanted to recreate that particular time when it simply isn't wanted or needed... they should have continued with the storylines following Brendan's/Cheryl's exit featuring the existing characters rather than bringing back pointless old faces. In soapland, you only need to bring old characters back to create a buzz around the show... and I don't think a buzz needed to be created after Brendan's exit, everyone was pretty hyped up about Hollyoaks as it was!

So we have Blackburn's Corrie Interview but still nothing from BK. Wonder if it's been delayed to next week now?
