The one in Aldeburgh Suffolk. I don't know what it's called but the fish was excellent.

I would also recommend the fish and chip shop literally on the beach at Dunwich, also in Suffolk, fresh fish also excellent. |

I had Fish and Chips in an upstairs posh (for Blackpool) restaurant many years ago. They were wonderful. Can't remember the name of the place.

I like Prospect Plaice in Sidmouth, though I'm talking about awhile back now, I don't know what it's like today.

I come from Yorkshire where the fish and chips were lovely.......now live in South Devon where because the fish is plentiful you would think they were to die for....WRONG........really thick yellow batter with a slimey layer between fish and batter...revolting. Really miss decent fish and chips!!

My local Cotters chippy in North Down, he does the fish and scampi in a stout batter which has won the shop several awards. Value for money has to go to the local Codfather that has several lunchtime specials including a fish supper and can of drink for 3 quid.

http://www.seniorsfishandchips.co.uk/blackpool.php It won the national chip shop award last year. Could have been St Annes ? I agree about Yorkshire, there's a couple of nice places in Skipton. |

Not sure, all I remember is it was up some stairs and the waitresses wore traditional black outfits and aprons. Tables set out like a proper restaurant.

Was it 'Chez Fred'? It's won awards, but I recall we were slightly disappointed when we went a couple of years ago.
Just did a quick Google - The Frying Squad! |

The one at the end of my road. Even though this is a seaside resort, where I live is nowhere near where any tourists ever are, so it's really a local chippy
For local people. ![]() Best fish and chips in town, mind. |

Squires Braunton, Devon was excellent.
Also fond memories of a chippie at Robin Hood bay. The battered cod was so good we went back for seconds that same evening. |
