I think it will be close, but due to streming I think Ed will probably nab it in the end.

But I guess you never know

I'm really hoping that they hold onto this. Although they weren't released the same week as Union J, the tracks by Take That, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are pretty big songs right now, so I wouldn't have expected Union J to outdo them. Really hoping they manage to pull this off. I also hope they have a good 3rd single lined up for when the album comes out!

The sales gap between 1 and 2 is just 2,500 - so I think come the weekend Ed will be in front.

But either way they'll get their highest charting/ selling single by quite some way

It's annoying it's probably going to miss out due to Ed Bloody Sheeran with a song that has been out for ages. Number 1 would mean so much more to the boys!

Fans of Union J in their pants will be pleased to hear that Josh has stripped off for one of the gay magazines naked issues out on 18th December. I'd rather have had George or JJ personally but will take what I can get!

The Alias club mixes have been added to iTunes today which make it much better for me and I bought the solo George edition while I was there. On top of the signed CD single bundle - so I can't say I haven't done my bit!

I would hate them to lose out to a song that's been out for weeks by 500 copies.

There's almost a cruel irony that the reason YGIA is doing so well is because it got a boost from the X Factor and it's being outsold by an old song that's only selling again because it was also performed on X Factor. With one hand giveth...

Oh well. It was good while it lasted (though if you had told me a week ago I'd be worried about Union J just missing Number 1 I'd have laughed in your face!)

At least it will chart in the top 2. This should ensure that they get a 3rd album anyway. They won't be dropped that's for sure. This was their last chance and the X Factor performance did save them. They do have pretty much everything going for them...the problem is that the music isn't good enough. This song has done well due to a mixture of their fanbase buying it and also because of the X Factor performance. If the song itself was actually good then it would have resulted in more casual radio listeners buying it. What they need is a killer song. I do think they do ballads better than up tempos. I saw an interview the other day in which they said that they will be concentrating more on ballads from now on...which I think is a good idea.

I see this as their Whole Again moment. Just like Atomic Kitten they started out with underperforming upbeat dance/pop then got saved from being dropped by a ballad that shocked everyone with it's performance. The trade-off for this is that dull ballads is all they will be allowed to release from now on. Having listened to the album previews on iTunes they could do worse than follow this up with I Can't Make You Love Me as the third single.

Well done. This will ensure they get a 3rd album at least.

I hope their Number 2 smash will protect them but it doesn't look good. Quietly dropped next year?
