A Student Night in July?! CS
This is really frustrating me! As if you'd start a student night during the summer when all the students have done home, and as if the police would get a warrant to raid a bar on the strength of one tip off at such short notice!

As we didn't hear anyone of them speak, I'm going with my suggestion that they are foreign exchange students who have taken over Salford (sorry Weatherfield) Uni's Halls for the Summer

Students still go out in the holidays, even if it's at home and not in their Uni town. Our union is busy all year round

Students will try anywhere if there's cheap drink on offer. I shouldn't think they would bother to go twice given the 'entertainment' and Nick's idea of 'banging tunes' though!

I am a student and the one thing i did disagree with, was the fact that leanne asserted they would have their student loans so would be okay - the vast majority of students i know, (and i am one!) spend and use up their student loans, easily by the end of term, or to such an extent they have to budget themselves, and definitely wouldn't have much spare money to throw away in july. everyone returns home to their jobs! It was poorly handled, in my opinion.

there would be plenty of students living in manchester during the summer! I'm sure its the same with all cities, just because they don't have classes doesn't mean they disappear of the face of the earth for 3 months

Definately! My student loan doesn't even cover accomodation, it's not because I'm living in an expensive house either! The absolute cheapest student halls are £20 a week more than I have from my loan!

What exactly is a 'student night'? That's a real question, not a dig at the grammar of the phrase.

I agree that it's a ridiculous idea to put it on in July. Most students will have gone home, and even those who do show up will be very tight for money considering they've had their last loan of the year and are two months away from the next one. |
