Poor Gary , he is one of the characters that makes The Bill worthwhile for me, i thought they were a tad harsh on him in the end.

The woman whose Husband arrested for stealing rubbish to make dodgy credit cards , was she in Brookside as the sister who had an incest affair with her Brother ??

Hate watching it on the drama website. That site is such a mess! Nice to see Porkpie again though. Must have been one of Ram John Holders last tv apperances, cant be too long after before he died.

Edit: Just looked and found out hes still alive could have sworn he died about 10 years ago!

Yeah.

I can't believe they allowed "Joy Wilton" who was clearly deranged to work at the station. Mind you, they did employ Cathy Bradford and Gabriel Kent for years.

Watching The Bill on UK Drama channel.

"Operation Mercury Part 1" was the one with the elderly "Asbo Boy" S21 Ep 296 (Ep 23 in tvguide.co.uk). Broadcast Thu 03/12/15 12:00 and Fri 04/12/15 11:00. It is also the last of the Sun 06/12/15 repeats at 10:00.

I missed the Epsode "Operation Mercury Part 2" where Gary messes up a drugs raid. According to tvguide.co.uk it was broadcast Fri 04/12/15 12:00 and will be repeated Mon 07/`12/15 11:00. Appears to be S21 Ep 297 (Ep 24 in tvguide.co.uk).
It's not available on UK TV onine catchup (yet?), the Sun 06/12/15 repeats, and for some reason it is a missing episode on YouTube. If I can't make Mon 07/12/15 11:00 I wonder if I'm going to have to wait until next Sunday morning?

The plot overview for "Operation Mercury Part 2" seems very familiar. Have we actually seen this episode before or did Gary mess up two drug raids?

I recently discovered the UK TV catchup section on UK Virgin Media Cable Catchup menu but for reasons unknown they do not offer The Bill.

Yes - think she was called Georgia in it and the brother was called Nat. Used to enjoy Brookside.

I'm enjoying watching The Bill on Drama and have done for the past 2 years. When The Bill was originally broadcast on ITV I watched the odd episode; but haven't seen these that are currently on. I'm hooked!

Me too. I never used to watch prime time TV and enjoy the 5-times-a-week scheduling of quality series such as The Bill, Heartbeat, The Royal etc ... providing that I can use Catchup TV or YouTube to fill in when I can't watch live. It's proving hard to find immediate Catchup TV for The Bill. Just have to watch the episodes out of order sometimes or pay some attention to late night and early morning repeats. The UK TV website is improving day-on-day but could do with posting Catchup programs much quicker than at present.

You could be thinking of Norman Beaton who played Desmond. I can't believe he died 21 years ago I didn't think it was that long ago though!

The Bill has got a few poor characters imo, but they have got two of the best characters in Gina Gold and Smithy, i really like their relationship, another reason why i like watching The Bill.

Really? I haven't been able to watch for two months as I've moved and my Freeview doesn't work here. What's the channel number please?

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but it seems the new daily episodes will be shown 9am to 10am from tomorrow week (21st), with new episodes on Saturday & Sunday too, up until Jan 1st.

Good episode today with the student and the underage girl,,when they went to arrest the student where he worked, i'm sure ive seen The Bill use that set before in a different episode.

What is it with The Bill and its use of people with a mental illness, Cathy Bradford, Gabriel Kent, and now Margaret Barnes, its ridiculous imo, these kind over the top storylines spoil the episodes, i tend to fast forward through them because they are poorly written imo

I didn't like the way Ramani was dragged into that story with "Joy Wilton". She was one of the best characters and I didn't like her being taken away from her cop stuff.

On UK Freeview Ch20 the new schedule runs through Christmas and the weekend too!
As UKTV catch-up is so far behind it is going to take some determined effort to watch these upcoming episodes in chronological order without resorting to the YouTube lottery (many episodes are blocked)..

I wouldn't go that far myself

Spoiler
The storyline was resolved fairly quickly with no great fallout for the character. Once they became aware that Margaret was a fruit loop, Ramani's credibility remained undamaged.
