He's been about but he hasn't had a major role in any of the recent episodes

Still a good 4 episodes behind but caught up with True Lies and Back to Basics.

Thought True Lies was a decent episode but not the best - nice to see Harker more involved this year, but the story of Boyden having his fingers burnt by a woman has been done to death. Enjoyed the side story of the drugs obbo and Garfield and Ashton losing the kid though. 6.5/10.

Thought Back to Basics was a superb episode - very Jim centric but enjoyed it, having his career and life turned upside down due to the tenure scheme (the same scheme that led to DS Grieg's departure a year earlier). Enjoyed the fraud story. 8/10.

I was trying desperately to remember where I knew the actress that played Helen, the bank security official, from. I could remember, wherever it was I had seen her, the character was a bit mad, but just couldn't remember. Had to go on IMDB, and I suddenly remembered, she appears later on in The Bill as a police officer, who is a bit mad.

Just watched Eddie Santini get nicked. Brilliant. Such an evil character, so satisfying when he got caught.

Just caught the repeats on the Drama channel of the Rosie Fox versus Eddie Santini conflict.
Very good.
I don't remember The Bill being this good that often.
There was some clunky dialogue that's for sure, and Eddie Santini was about convincing as the actor was in Eastenders, but this conflict storyline was very entertaining to watch.

Caroline Catz was excellent in this and really carried this storyline through. Very good actress I thought.

Did you know that Catz and Higgs (Santini) are married in real life?!

Is this the end of the Santini episode as far as Drama are concerned...I thought something else happened between Santini and Pauley.

Just wondering whether they are selectively showing episodes rather than showing them all.

Drama have shown every episode since the start of the run in the correct sequence apart from one Burnside story featuring a serial rapist that may have been too strong for the morning TV slot.

I don't know how far they plan to go in this run but there is still the Santini trial to look forward to if they continue that far.

Yeah the Santini trial was around April 2000, with the episodes for his arrest from around June 1999. But I don't know if they'll show it - I don't think Alibi did. Was it regarded as a spin-off or something? Or maybe Alibi just didn't show extended episodes? (If Santini's trial was extended - I know foreign body didn't get shown last time.)

Anyway really enjoyed the rest of the Santini storyline, probably 8 or 9 out of 10s all round. Maybe a bit more could have been made of his arrest - though maybe there is some stuff after. I can't quite remember!

Still miles behind but caught up on three.

I thought Makeover was a strong episode - another Carver-oriented episode. Interesting to see him back in uniform, but nice to see him struggling to adjust to Uniform because this will lead to a later story. Thought the crime story was a decent effort but though it was bad of him leaving Luke on his own. 7/10.

Tinderbox was an excellent episode. Funny seeing the senior officers in the great outdoors. Some great subplots established like Brownlow's animosity towards Mannion (and Mannion would be key in Brownlow's departure), and the tension between Meadows and Conway. I feel that when Brownlow left especially, a lot of The Bill was lost because the trio of Brownlow, Meadows and Conway were fantastic and when Chandler came in, it ruined that completely. Anyway, thoroughly enjoyable. Best episode since Badlands and S.A.D. 9.5/10.

And Set Up was a good effort as well. I don't like how the writers made Kerry so unlikeable. As much as I think Boulton has been written too OTT, I think he was justified in his reaction. Bit sick of Boulton though - he's been in the show an awful lot, but I hear he's off screen for a long while (which will translate to about a month off screen on the Drama eps). 7/10.

I really like Foreign Body, even if some of Drama's edits were a bit clunky. Lots of nice interaction and think this is one of the rarer CID gems. Really enjoyable watch and worth the extended episode. 9.5/10

Michael Higgs was recently in Wizards vs Aliens a CBBC show which served as a replacement of sorts for The Sarah Jane Adventures.

The second season is apparently due to start next month

No, I had absolutely no idea.
Did they meet on The Bill or were they with each other before?
