Saw Sgt.Boyden on Eastenders the other day as Jean's ex-boyfriend.

I noticed they bleeped out some swearing about 4 times in today's episode from Ronnie Atkins on "Drama". "Another Country". I'm pretty sure a couple of times they didn't bleep out "s***" on "Gun Crazy: Part Two" where McAllister I believe said that. Am I right?

The way they bleeped them was amusing

The bleeped out word was 'bastard' - which isn't even a swearword!

I must say that the performance of veteran actor John Woodvine in this episode deserved an award!

An early appearance by Tony Stamp's dad! Can't remember now if they met in this episode.

It seems as though FremantleMedia have supplied Drama with the wrong transmission masters again...”

I'm almost certain that the transmission tapes Drama received are in fact modified versions of these episodes FremantleMedia done to accommodate for foreign TV stations' requirements. I'm sure the censored 'bastard's were censored by FremantleMedia too, as I've definitely seen this version of the episode before (I think it was almost 10 years ago on UKTV Gold!).

I hope the Britanniamania episodes are the proper 16:9 original versions and not these cheap edited versions.

I also agree about John Woodvine - exceptional performance

I'm just glad most episodes are 16:9, I'm sure they weren't last time UK Gold showed them, I guess more people still had 4:3 sets back then.

I don't think I could bare to watch Britanniamania on Drama, due to the cuts, since there is obviously quite a bit of violence & swearing in this story.

I had a quick peak at the first episode and they've cut part of the "Tonight on The Bill" segment right at the start, lol.

This Britannia storyline is pretty much pinched from the Film I.D, undercover policemen pretend to work as builders, go to the pub to get friendly with one of the firm, etc..., i also cringe at some of the dialogue.

A lot of The Bill is taken from the headlines & story's in the press over time they had to get their ideas from somewhere.

Which is a good thing I think, the majority of storylines over the years were well written and I still maintain The Bill was one the best drama/soaps ever on UKTV. So many memorable characters over the years, why the hell did ITV axe it? We only have to look at the ITV 8pm slot during the week and it still fells like something is missing.

Never seen the Britanniamania storyline until now. But was some of the violence cut in "Part 3" by the way? Again about 4 uses of the word bullshit they didn't censor yet they bleeped out 'bastard' on 'Another Country' on Monday.

I think ITV wanted to drop The Bill for some time, It didn't help when STV in Scotland dropped the programme because ITV dropped Taggart kids stuff or what from STV, Then ITV said The Bill is losing viewers it would woundn't it, I still think as many have said ITV would regret it & I think they do but they won't say they do.
