yeah it was poor,, i was chuckling at the bloke they arrested from the dentist, his reaction to it made it seem like a comedy.

I actually forgot how much of a jerk Taviner was.

Mind you, I'll always be fond of him because of that time he used the sadly underused word "redress".

I remember this era of the Bill very well and I'm certain it was filmed in widescreen so why are drama show 4.3 ratio?

Sorry. Must have got her confused for someone else.

Not wrong until the appearance of PC Cathy Bradford.

I think the episodes this week have been fantastic, particularly The Risk Factor, Loaded and Not To Praise him. Loaded is a fantastic episode with some great humour and tragedy packed into one hour - it's got a great juxtaposition of emotion. It's one of the best Bill episodes ever in my opinion and perhaps Des and Reg's best episode together - I loved the bit where Des was wondering if Helen might be a ladyboy and Reg said 'well it wouldn't be the first time'. I thought Not To Praise Him was also a lovely episode. It helps that Len Collin is such a good writer - one of the best The Bill ever had in my view. I liked the lines today 'I know, I read it in the papers' and 'Well I can see why that would upset anyone'.

I didn't have a problem with Terry Knowles' death. When I watched it for the first time it was shocking the way it happened so randomly and quickly as opposed to having any type of build-up and it also fitted in to the storyline of him learning bad traits from Des. I believe it was based on a real life event actually.

Drama kept mucking around with the aspect ratio when they showed episodes earlier this year

I am really enjoying these Drama epsiodes, many of which I missed first time round as we didnlt have the DVR then. Whilst i enjoyed the Knowles eps I did have to smile at some cock ups in them , Terry was pronounced dead at the scene and Monroe was telling someone Terry was dead then pan to Paramedic loading Terry intothe ambulance body not covered and she was pumping the Ambu Bag to keep him breathing. Then when they were filiming the reconstruction they appear to have forgotten to change the car reg plate so they used the same car ( which of course they would do) as the killer was driving but with the same number plate although they said they only had a partial index.

Just watched that one myself, was indeed all over the place, Roz's fantastic boobs in that white top made up for it though

I've just finished watching all the episodes surrounding the serial rapist - I thought these were a really strong run of episodes. I loved seeing Liz back, she's one of my favourite ever characters and Kate Spears really grew on me in these episodes. I really liked her scenes with Liz. In particular, I enjoyed the final episode of the run 'Slash and Burn'. I thought this episode was really tense and everything came together quite nicely. My only criticism would be that the story dragged slightly, and the story could have easily lost an episode to keep the whole arc tighter.

I'm really looking forward to watching the Terry Knowles episodes next.

That's the thing about Des, he may have been bit of a barsteward but I never thought his friendship with Reg was anything less than genuine

I thought that it was strange that there was no mention of Terry Knowles having a wife and child until after he had died very odd, he was so troubled and concerned for his nieces when he discovered a paedophile was living near them, but made no mention that he had a young child!

I assume that the ex-wife and kid lived in either a completely different part of London or outside of London altogether

I agree with this, Des thought Reg was as weird as they come but he was genuinely fond him and thought of him as a friend, he knew he could rely on Reg, more than any other person at Sunhill. On the surface you would of thought Des would be the sort of person who take the mick out of Reg and wouldn't be able to stand him but there friendship was one of the best ever seen on the Bill.

Has anyone else had any problems with the episode synopsis for the next couple of weeks of episodes on Drama? After Set In Stone on Wednesday they are all over the place on my Virgin Planner!

I haven't looked into this yet - I normally check them in advance against the listings on the Drama website - but I am aware that after Set In Stone we enter a period when there were no official episode names so it will be more difficult to keep track that they are in the correct order and there are no omissions.

Right, I've checked the episodes on the Drama site against my episode list and everything appears to be okay. They have an odd way of numbering the episodes which I don't understand (perhaps some can shed light?) as Set In Stone is listed as Series 17 Episode 36 (I thought we were on Series 18) then the episodes continue 17/37 up to 17/42 on 9th October. Then they are numbered Series 18 Episode 1 on the 10th and continue to 18/6 on the 17th which is where all listings end for now. There are very few synopses against these episodes but the ones that are there match my list.

Anyone see the end of the "fight scene" with Taviner and Gilmore where Boyden throws water on them? When he does that, the reaction at the end almost makes it look like an outtake.

The arrest scene of Terry's killer was weird just the way she was wailing like a banshee.

I was engrossed with the interview with Knowles' killer. It was superb drama and brought this excellent multipart story to a fitting close.

And the gratuitous shots of her cleavage when she was demonstrating how she stabbed him.
