i missed it

sometimes i like Tony Stamp and other times i hate him, i think Graham plays him well and the character is well written, it makes me chuckle that every few months he brings up Jims alcoholism, its like he cant let it rest.

I'm fast forwarding through this pensioner nonsense, absolutely dreadful stuff, plus it has Jim and June's relationship involved which i have no interest in.

The club scenes are interesting, i just cant take Trigger as a gangster boss seriously.

One thing ive always been impressed with The Bill are the injuries, the make up is really convincing when someone has a cut etc...

As a fan of the "Confessions of...." series of films, it was good to see Tony Booth pop up for an appearance, though he looks a hell of a lot older than he did in the films!

I think RLP played the Mick Mortimer character superbly. But I'm just sick to death of Hunter always getting one over on Klein.....

......
Spoiler
though in the future, Hunter does get some kind of comeuppance anyway

I must've been about 10/11 when this was on TV and I remember it being my favourite thing on TV.

Now over 10 years later I'm actually really enjoying it even more, for me it's probably 2002/3/4 is probably the best period as I've tried watching older series and I didn't like it.

I think I remember
Spoiler
Cass Rickman's body being found by the river

When does that happen?

It was good to see someone treat Debbie McAllister the way she's always treated officers she deems to be beneath her (ie everyone else)

This is the period I lost interest in The Bill. Stories like Luke, Kerry, Craig was when it started to turn too soapish for me and no longer the crime show it was meant to be. Will have to see if I stick it this time.
Agree though the story about the damage at the OAPs home was particularly cringeworthy.

Just catching up on Friday's episode and it reminded me how much I enjoyed Diane Parish's character back in the day - the way she casually told Debbie about Sam Nixon's promotion with a smug grin on her face whilst texting was classic!

I loved Eva Sharp, one of my all time favorite Bill characters and Diane Parish as ever was fantastic in the role.

Somebody posted this above (can't find it now) :"The Bill will stop showing on the Sunday 21st December for the Christmas break for 2 weeks and then is likely to start airing back on Drama on 5th of January at 11am weekdays".

This is not so. The Bill runs continuously, but from Monday 22nd December it's at 8:00 & 9:00 (AM). This includes a "new" episode on Saturday 27th at 9:00.

Yeah, I stopped watching sometime in 2002 and only caught it now and again until its demise. For some reason though, I've absolutely loved the Marquess era so far. I will admit some of it is a bit too heavy on the relationships though and I can really understand your feelings on the show.

Me too, I'm not to keen on some of the new characters but Eva Sharp is great!

According to TV Choice, Drama are showing The Bill all during Christmas, but it isn't in the listings for January 2nd! it is also going back to the 8am/9am slot!
Does anyone have a link for the listings on the Drama Channel's website?

Tom Butcher who played Steve Loxton from 90 to 97 will be touring in the New Year with a production of Arnold Ridley's famous play The Ghost Train.

Here you are: http://drama.uktv.co.uk/ but it currently only goes up to 29/12.

If last Christmas/New Year's anything to go by, The Bill stopped on 31 December and resumed on 10 February. This time it's in the schedules until New Year's Day but is absent on 2 January 2015. Some weeks ago we were told that it would be taking a 2-week break from 21 December and returning in January but the first part of that has turned out to be incorrect - assuming the published schedules are right.

I can't say I'm enjoying the current run of episodes on Drama much as I don't think there's a single storyline that doesn't ring untrue for one reason or another and most of the characters are being vile to each other most of the time. I'm getting far more pleasure from watching 1993/4 on DVD - episodes I never saw first time round. The current batch have reminded me why I gave up on The Bill completely with the end of Chandler era. I shall stick with it this time though, as I know from later repeats that it got a lot better a bit further down the line.

It was Vincenzo Pellegrino who played porter Derek 'Sunny' Sunderland in Casualty.

He was later in M.I.T.

A very young Sam Aston who plays Chesney in Coronation Street in today's episode. Guessing Drama are planning to show 2003?

Just found this on the Drama site:
"The Bill on drama continues over xmas, but beware s18 eps 73/4 are being omitted in january, watch episodes are being rested but return on mon 5th Jan 2015".

Episodes 73/74 are the last two of Series 18. Does anyone know why they would not be shown? Violence, sensitive content, perhaps? Whatever the reason, it's annoying.
