Can't stand smithy or the actor who plays him, so it's a slog watching anything he is in.

It's clear that The Bill is about to enter its Sunset Beach phase.

I liked Smithy in later years apart from his antipathy towards Callum Stone as I never understood what that was all about. [No spoilers in response please].

She's better than Kerry though

I can't stand Kerry or Luke and the sooner we see the back of them the better

Aww, she might not be the best actress but I really like the character of Honey. A babe compared to dreary, pouty faced Kerry!

Yeah, I've never been a knocked out Smithy fan especially in his early days. He does mellow as time goes on I suppose. For anyone who really doesn't enjoy him, it's gonna be a long haul!!!

Its the same with Stamp, Stamp always brings up Jim's alcoholism and that was in series 15 (i think) as well

So many of the characters now were so much different by the time you got to 2008 (as it is on Watch).

Smithy, Nixon and Hunter are virtually different characters.

Madford was really going for it today. The pregnancy and miscarriage lies, the crocodile tears, attacking that woman (who was also a fantasist) and then lying about it.

Does anyone know what's happened to the Sierra Oscar forum elsewhere on the web that used to have extensive discussion about The Bill? I always enjoyed reading that but I can't seem to find it anymore.

It's really irritating that from 2nd April the Drama listings change their numbering of episodes to Series 20 Episode 1 etc. It just add confusion. We're only half way through Series 19, 2003!

I missed Casualty tonight. I remember he was in Casualty a couple of years ago. Chandler appeared in the same episode!

I wasn't keen on Smithy first time round though he did have some redeeming moments nor did I warm to him on his return as he still had that attitude but he developed over the years and became one of my favourite characters, he mellowed .

Talking of Sunset Beach

Spoiler
We saw the first glimpse of the second lunatic to arrive at Sun Hill Gabriel Kent the other night and we will soon lose Polly to prison thanks to Cathy Madford, I am still quite often fast forwarding bits she is in as she drives me mad, if they continue showing the eps in sequence I think we have about another 12 to 14 weeks of her madness depending on how they handle it at Easter

Ref your hidden comment, there's no The Bill on Good Friday or Easter Monday.

I know we were supposed to dislike her but the writing around her character was just surreal mind you a lot of it was during that unfortunate era

Spoiler
How many episodes was Madford holed up in the boiler room with Brandon's kids before anyone noticed, that was slightly farcical
