Having just waded through the Sports: Forum Games group to see if there's anything Cheltenham-related kicking off yet, I'm still of the opinion that it needs splitting into three:
Sports: Forum Games
Sports: A-Z Games
Sports: Non-Forum Games.

I am sure there will be a Cheltenham Tipping Contest matey, there usually is

And for the Saturday comp I will be doing the Cheltenham Gold Cup as well as the Saturday race, you can PM me your selections too if you wish

Might be time to pester the mods again. Personally I think you just need two though:

Sports: forum games
Sports: competitions

I do wonder if we should have two Hall Of Fames too. One for DS games and one for the PG ones. Even though I play so many of the PG games I still see the DS one as the hardest ones to win as usually a lot more players

Could do, obviously we can sort that out ourselves, take a bit of separating now though.

Here's a copy of what I sent the mods if anyone would like to use it as a template to send a similar message to them:

'The competitions in the Sports Forum Games section are getting 'buried' by the A-Z type games.

As a suggestion, would it not be better, rather like the music section, if this part of the forum was sub-divided further, so that you have:

Sport
Sport Forum Games
Sport Forum Competitions

Whats the feeling on two halls of fame ? A DS and a PG one ?

Agree, and still totally agree that the non forum comps should be separate.
I anyone decided to run a "new" racing comp, I'd probably miss it as I don't bother going in there anymore except to post on the games I'm already in or if I expect a new comp to be started.
Sort of defeating the object I suspect.

What Terence has suggested is the reverse of what I just said (and deleted).
But I disagree with his suggestion (sorry) .

I wouldn't think the Saturday/Sunday comps should go in with Dean's as they are DS comps whereas Dean's get hived off to some other site.

I would have suggested all Deans for starters, then we can decide later if the A-Zs need their own sub-group as well.

I don't see the problem with having DS and Dean's comps which link to another site in the same section. He's consolidated his comps so if we simply have all the comps together they'll be on the same page, in the same section. You'll be able to see your horsey ones alright.

If we have his comps in with the A-Z type games you'll have two pages of games and comps mish-mashed together , with the new comps sub-forum only occupying about three quarters of a page!

And you don't really need Sport, Sport Forum Games, Sport Forum DS Comps, Sport Forum non-DS comps, that'd be too many as you alluded to in your earlier post.

The mods have kindly set up a comps section now, why not just put them all in there and see how we get on?

We can give it a go. The mods seem open to structuring it as per user requests, so we can always change it again later down the line if it doesn't work
