I liked Claudine and her function to the show. She was there to bring out the real people behind the ridiculous showboating and, in the main, I feel she succeeded.

Every bit as dozy as "Are the French fond of their children," and all the more frustrating for the fact he repeated it and repeated it and never got taken to task about it. He probably still thinks he's right. Inane. Nonsense. Utter tripe.

'Are the French fond of their children?' did make sense in context. Susan was asking if they're inclined to buy things for their children, which to me seemed a very sensible thing to be asking.

Don't entirely disagree - in fact, I was using it as an example of a smarter sentence than the thing Matthew said - but to play devil's advocate, can you name me a Western European country where people aren't inclined to buy things for their children?

It wasn't quite the Apprentigaffe You're Fired wanted it to be, but it was a little futile.

I don't know enough about the culture in different countries to know, to be honest. I know that different countries have different methods of bringing up children though, and some don't really spend much money on their children. The same with the other things. Like, she was also criticised for saying, 'Do the French drive?' I can't imagine she was thinking they'd never have seen a car before, but driving is more prominent in some countries than others. I'm not sure about France, but I've been on holiday to Denmark, and while people obviously drive, there is a very strong cycling culture there, and also a great public transport service which a lot of people use, so I'd never consider trying to sell parts for cars there. It was due to that kind of question that they won that task.

The stereotypical image of a Frenchman is a man with a beret and a stripey coat riding a bicycle. It's also the home of the Tour de France. Huge bike culture, but the car product was still the thing.

They mostly won the task cos Melody talked Tom out of picking the killer product. I don't, honestly, think it had much to do with the France's child-friendliness or lack thereof, nor Susan pestering Zoe about it. That product would've gone down just as well in Germany, Edinburgh, "The North," and everywhere else they've done their business trips. Just as in series six before it, products that make babies survive a bit longer can be a sort of Apprentice win button.

Susan is one of the strongest candidates ever but I'm not sure we taxpayers shouldn't ask her old school for a refund on her education costs. Away from French cars and children, Susan thought there were "dinosaurs and stuff" at the British Museum, despite three years at university just five minutes walk away, and was mystified by heavy traffic as she drove up The Mall towards that big house at the end where the Queen lives.

Well, in fairness until she was twelve she lived in Australia, so not our taxes!
