This is correct. Unfortunately, because of contractual restrictions with our providers, purchased content is only available to you for three years. I'm sorry to say there is nothing we can do about this.

Your description of "purchase" is dishonest, as when people purchase an item, they expect to have it for ever.

You don't purchase are car for three years, you hire (rent) a car for three years.
