Back in May, we started a search for the best X Factor act discarded by the judges on the actual show. Over 50 of them auditioned, with some making it through to bootcamp. Here, our four own judges selected 3 contestants from each category in a very careful manner, as only the best were allowed through. After 7 intense live shows, 12 have become just 3. Today, 3 will become just ONE as we will crown the winner of the second series of The X Factor: Mix It Up!
Ladies and gentlemen, I welcome you all to the GRAND FINAL of the series! During last week's seminfinal, we saw the unfortunate demise of Danielle Blakey, taking over 25s mentor Zak with her. The three acts who got voted through last time have one more challenge ahead of them: winning this show.
Each act has had to prepare a grand total of 4 songs for tonight's final. However, not all of them will actually sing each and every one of their songs. During round one, the acts will sing a Free Choice song, hopefully convincing you that they should win this competition if they haven't already convinced you in the past seven shows. Round two focuses on Past Contestant Duets, where the final three will sing duets with acts that participated in series one of Mix It Up! After these two rounds, the lines will open for a short time and the public will get the chance to vote. After some time, the voting process will be frozen and the act with the lowest amount of votes will be eliminated in 3rd place.
The final two will then go on to sing their other songs. In round three, each of the two remaining acts will re-perform a song they performed earlier in the competition. The songs performed are those who their mentors liked the most from their own contestants - the Mentor's Favourite. Then, we will close the show with a spectacular fourth round. This final round features the Winner's Singles, the last-ditch efforts of the final two acts to convince everyone that they are the best of the best. The lines will re-open after that and will close later on after which the winner will be crowned. Don't forget about the 'afterparty' either, where exciting news and the voting stats will be revealed!
With all that out of the way, please allow me to introduce you to our fantastic four judges and the amazing top three of The X Factor: Mix It Up!
