I'm going to the Lake District next week, staying in a B&B in Keswick, can anyone recommend a vegetarian restaurant in that area?

I wish I'd done more research when I went there two years ago.

Thank you; I found out about the Quince & Medlar via Trip Advisor, it sounds nice but may be a bit pricey.

Zepherellis in Ambleside. I'd say it was an essential visit.

I hate vegetarian food, browny whole food disgusts me, but this is delicious and the place is so friendly. You can have posh or just a jacket potato, it's by the cinema and I'd definitely recommend it.

It's about time vegetarian food wasn't just grains and pesto you know?

+1 for Zeffirellis , I'm not a veggie but the food was excellent.

Ambleside is quite a distance from Keswick; I've booked a table at the Quince & Medlar.

It's not veggie but The Square Orange has a tapas menu that you select dishes from so you can choose meat free. And its the cutest little (only about 20 seats!) bar. Has live music regularly and a cupboard full of old fashioned board games. Love that place!

Me too. I love the Lake District. Use to go camping in Ullswater a lot. Loved going up Scafell too.

I'm lucky enough to live in the Lake District.
It is beautiful at the minute with the hot weather, but not so good the other 51 weeks a year when it rains constantly!!
