Vegetarian restaurants in the Lake District
I'm going to the Lake District next week, staying in a B&B in Keswick, can anyone recommend a vegetarian restaurant in that area?

Zepherellis in Ambleside. I'd say it was an essential visit.
I hate vegetarian food, browny whole food disgusts me, but this is delicious and the place is so friendly. You can have posh or just a jacket potato, it's by the cinema and I'd definitely recommend it. It's about time vegetarian food wasn't just grains and pesto you know? |

Ambleside is quite a distance from Keswick; I've booked a table at the Quince & Medlar.

It's not veggie but The Square Orange has a tapas menu that you select dishes from so you can choose meat free. And its the cutest little (only about 20 seats!) bar. Has live music regularly and a cupboard full of old fashioned board games. Love that place!

It is beautiful at the minute with the hot weather, but not so good the other 51 weeks a year when it rains constantly!! |
