REVIEWED: Loreen - Heal
Hello there. Today's review is a bit early because if I don't do it now it won't be published until monday and I thought you wouldn't be able to contain your excitement for that long. So, here it is, my review of Loreen's Heal (the 2013 edition). Enjoy
After winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the club smash Euphoria, Loreen saw her profile rise dramatically - the aforementioned single went on to chart in the UK top 3 and be one of the most successful Eurovision singles of the past few years, and I was always interested to listen to an album of hers and it definitely didn't disappoint. Opening tracks We Got The Power and My Heart Is Refusing Me are both storming pop tracks that definitely take their lead from Euphoria, and ensure Loreen didn't just fluke with the Eurovision winning single. Sober and Breaking Robot are also catchy numbers that fit in the album well. While nothing amazing, they are still solid efforts that could have been just as good entries in Eurovision. Loreen is also a great and unique vocalist, especially evident on the haunting title track Heal and the Robyn-esque If She's The One, both showing an emotional side highlighting she is a real artist. There are some tracks on the album, however, that make me think they could have been better; Everytime never really gets going and is a bit dull compared to the opening tracks; Sidewalk is listenable but its 'not in heaven, not in hell, i'm on the sidewalk' chorus is cheesy and almost cringy. Do We Even Matter is a good song with a good message and beat, but after only 2 listens you quickly become tired of it. Luckily that isn't the case for all of the songs on the album. Overall, the album is a nice listen, but nothing outdoes Euphoria, with We Got The Power probably being the closest and In My Head is quite a grower. I'm glad i've listened to it and look forward to hear new material from her, in which Loreen could maybe take more risks and stand out from the crowd. TOP 3 TRACKS = We Got The Power, Euphoria, Breaking Robot DUD = Everytime RELATED ARTISTS = Robyn, Agnes, Cascada OVERALL RATING = 7/10 Thanks for reading

The Offical Top 3 Tracks are actually Heal, Crying Out Your Name & My Heart Is Refusing Me.

![]() ![]() I'm all for reviews of European artists, especially when they deserve to make it over here, like Loreen. |

I wouldn't say Everytime was a dud song. It's one of my favourites on the album!

Same here its excelent it's beautifully underplayed without ever being dull. I thinkits pointles she re-released for 1 song. but overall it's a nice if not groundbreaking debut with loads of potential hits.
You know the one! I don't know why she re-released the album. Surely that song could have been the first single from her second album instead? Everytime would have made a good winter single with a nice dramatic video

Everytime (defo not a dud) and Sidewalk are some of my faves more so than Sober and We Got The Power.
Sober the original version is miles better than the album version. My top three tracks are all different to yours. |

Cracking album, not a dud song on it. Seeing as you've gone for the 2013 version you should definitely check out See You Again which was struck off from the re-release.

Everytime and Sidewalk are the highlights of the album! I do agree with the rest though
The album itself is a genuine 10/10 for me though |

Heal is one of my favourite albums ever. There is not a weak track and the album has a great flow throughout. Also, Everytime is one of my favourite tracks off the album, the best part is when it goes all electro.
