I have three cats and they are sunning themselves in the garden as we speak, they are wormed, have regular flea treatments and very very clean, they use my garden as a litter tray and only go into next doors garden to gang up on their cat.

They are happy, contented, well fed they actually live the life of riley with the servants waiting on them hand and foot. In return I get purrs, head rubbing and companionship.

I have no problem with anyone chasing my cats from their gardens if they go there, no problem with people squirting water at them, putting things down or spraying things they cant abide, like lion poo or citrus.

However if ANYONE puts a spike on their wall that injures one of my cats or electrocutes them, or even harms them in any other way, I would feel justified in doing the same to them - be warned.

Exactly this with my two. Plus if they could prove it was my cats crapping in their garden, I'd be more than happy to go and clear up on their behalf

I am not sure you should wait for proof if your cat is within the area of the persons garden then just respond by clearing it up, chances are it's yours or someone else is having to clear yours up anyway.

With so many cats around where I live I would want proof that my cats were the culprits. The chances are, the poo is not from mine anyway Particularly as I know that my cats use my own garden mainly.

To be honest, cat poo is so easy to clear up I really don't understand why people are so obsessed and repulsed by it. I find cat wee more of a problem because it kills grass and plants. However, real gardeners know that there are much worse problems than cat excrement in gardens to deal with. I currently have a problem with ant nests near my fish pond, I can't put down any ant killer in case it contaminates the water. Slugs eat my plants and I don't believe in slug pellets, again because of possible harm to either my cats or my fish. Any slug that gets into my fish pond gets eaten in one mouthful by my koi.

For those anti-cat haters who support unpleasant cat deterrents such as electric fences and anti climb paint, what about the possible consequences to other wildlife which, some posters here profess to support and cite as their reasons for their cat hatred? I know some of these posters say they don't hate cats - they have said they actually quite like them if they keep within their ''proper place within the home'' looking all cute and fluffy

There are at least 10 cats in my cul de sac, so I'd want proof it was mine doing it. I'd expect the other cats owners to clear up after their cats

Well I will stop being so reasonable then, when my teeny Chihuahua has a poo occasionally in long grass I can't find it so I will pick up another dogs poo just to be considerate and helpful. But if we have to identify each poo individually I will stop because the enormous poos I end up picking up are definitely not Betty's.
