While it may be very predictable song for you James, there’s no denying it was great. Both you and Nelly sounded like you really, really meant what you were singing. However, I’ll admit that I was hoping you’d do something a bit more out there to capture our attention for the Final. Nevertheless, an excellent performance. Good work!

Brenda Edwards & Mary J. Blige
Brenda, this really wasn’t my favourite performance from you at all. I don’t know what it is but it was just kind of missing that sound we’ve got from you throughout the rest of the competition. I’m quite disappointed tonight Brenda, and this isn’t some kind of tactics to save my own act – I’m genuinely disappointed from your performances tonight.

Lucy Spraggan & Jake Bugg

Now THAT was special! Lucy, your voice mixing with Jake’s was certainly something I’ve wanted to hear for a very long time and I’m really glad I got a chance to show it off to everybody here tonight. Your vocals were great, and you looked much more at ease having that guitar with you. Thanks very much to Jake too, thank you! Although this could be the end of the road for us Lucy, I’m really glad you decided not to go down without a fight! Great job!

All right, that was a really quick first part of the final actually. Each of the finalists has sung twice now, and so the lines are now OPEN! It's entirely up to the DS public to decide which of these three acts will be going home first and which two will still be in the running.
