Lily literally sings about 5 lines for the whole duration of the track and contributes nothing to the song. It seems very bizarre. Why not record a proper duet together rather than slipping a random ten seconds of Lily's vocals in at the end?

Her appearance in the video is hilarious too...her scene just looks randomly added.

I think (I may be wrong) that they wrote it together. Perhaps Pink just wanted to let Lily in on the song somehow. I think it's great.

I much prefer this to the duets where a rent-a-rapper appears for absolutely no reason other than to shift a few more copies. i.e. Pitbull - the most pointless act around at the moment.

I knew it was only one verse when the album came out but I didn't notice how small that verse actually was until I saw the video.

I think it's great and I'm pretty sure Lily wrote the song, P!nk liked it and cos Lily wasn't gonna do another solo album at the time, she just thought she'd collaborate - I think it's great and gives a nice little taster for a new album from her

Lily and Pink wrote the song together and Pink asked Lily to sing on it. Lily also does backing vocals. I don't think it was ever touted as a big collab!

I'll take them 5 seconds rather than having no music.

No that would be Janelle Monae on We Are Young. At least Lily gets about 5 lines Janelle was a glorified backing singer.

Oh, come on, she said "carry me home" a few times

I agree though, that was pointless

I thought this from day 1 when I first heard the song!!! I honestly think she's only on true love because pink and her wanted to 'duet' but couldn't be arsed writing a song so they just scribbled 5 lines on paper and lily recorded it and that was it!! it was totally pointless

Exactly not really warrenting a Ft is. At least with Lily she does backing and sings a small portion of the song its a far bigger contribution though basically nothing in itself

Well her contribution is more noticeable than Janelle Monae's part in We are young
I have heard that song a thousand times and i still can't pick out her part in the song

I saw the video on the music channels and was shocked at how small her section was. What a pointless day at the video filming it must have been for her.

It's just the ''Carry Me Home'' repeated that is all i mean if it were not Janelle Monae the vocalist would have never gotten a mention. That to me is way more pointless than Lily's minor performance.

TBH i was surprised she appeared in the video at all so it was a nice surprise.

it wasn't a collab just added vocals ....P!nk requested the vocals as she is a huge fan. Just like Janelle Monae adding vocals to the track by FUN. - we are young

Janelle Monae also did backing vocals during the chorus of We Are Young. I remember watching a video of fun. and Janelle doing the song acoustically, and the chorus sounded so flat without her

What about Charli XCX or whatever her name is, on Icona Pop's I Love It. What does she add?

As we're talking of pointless collaborations, I'd add Cheryl Cole's contribution to Will.i.am's Check it Out to the list also. She's literally just pasted into the video and her vocal in the song is pointless.

I try to forget about that. It's more cringey, than it is pointless.

That was really embarrassing. Having seen the original version and the new "featured version" with Cheryl Cole, that video just made me laugh. As much as I like Cheryl, I still can't notice her singing in it. Adding on to the pointless collaboration, how about Lauren Bennett of Pussycat Dolls in Party Rock Anthem? She virtually sings "Get up, get down, put your hands up to the sun" repeatedly for about 20 seconds and that's about it. I think she does the backing vocals, but LMFAO just overpowers it, so you don't notice it the first few listens. Have to agree on Janelle Monae one as well. At least with True Love, Lily co-wrote it with Pink and Greg Kurstin. Monae in We Are Young didn't even write the song!!!

Same!

Lily allen also did a song with common 'drivin' me wild' with her just repeating the same couple of lines over and over at the chorus, it works though....easy money

Didn't Rihanna feature Justin Timberlake on "Rehab? All he did was say "aha" a few times...I'd have thought that if they were going to feature him they'd have added an extra verse.
