Well of course. What girl wouldn't be bowled over by these lyrics?

Raining blood
From a lacerated sky
Bleeding its horror
Creating my structure
Now I shall reign in blood!

Check out Black Stone Cherry's latest album, it leans more in that direction, with hints of southern rock Theory of a Deadman would also be very similar to the likes of Shinedown.

I'm not sure which modern bands count as soft rock.
I would have immediately thought:

REO Speedwagon
Chicago
Styx
Heart
Sutherland Bros and Quiver
Fleetwood Mac
Eric Carmen

Would Coldplay, The Script, Snow Patrol and Keane not be considered soft rock?

Have a look at the genre map someone posted yesterday, maybe look at the Funk Rock or Nu-Metal genres here:

http://www.furia.com/misc/genremaps/...-funkrock.html

http://www.furia.com/misc/genremaps/...p-numetal.html

Might discover something there (you can click on most artists to here a sample).

the Foo Fighters.
Genesis
System of a Down
Staind
Terrorvision
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Green day

Perhaps not all could be termed as real soft rock - but then I wouldn;t have said Linkin Park are obviously soft-rock material either.
