Who will be queen of the Ring?

Kate Lawler steps into the ring for some girl on girl action as she battles it out with 5 other girls for some of the sexiest shows ever, Celebrity Wrestling.

ITV bosses have signed up 12 "famous" guys and girls to train for the no-holds tournament/entertainment.

And the new Saturday night show, due to start in the Spring, is set to be a massive hit as contestants don tiny outfits in a bid to be crowned king or queen of the ring.

The pick of the girls who will be working up a sweat will be Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton, 25, Swedish model Victoria Silvstedt, 30, and Big Brother 3 winner Kate Lawler, 24.

They will be joined by tennis star Annabelle Croft, 38, TV host Jeremy Powell, 36, and Page 3 girl Leilani Dowding, 24.

The girls will be trained by pro wrestlers who'll teach them how to pin their opponent.

A spokesman for the show said "This is wrestling as it has never been seen before. The celebrities have been training hard and ready to rumble."

There are also six "famous" fellas who will be getting slammed on the canvas, like Jade's ex Jeff Brazier, 24. He may have to put on more weight when he hits the gym, as his opponents are James Hewitt, 46, show jumper Olivier Skeete, 44, and children's TV presenter Mark Spreight, 36.

The last few recent pictures of our Kate are alarming as she seems all skins and bones to me. Maybe this show and the training involved would spur her to put on more flesh and cut down on the nights out.

Go! Kate! Go! Do it for Big Brother!

As a fan or pro-wrestling, and of many reality TV shows - I can truly say I think this is a ghastly idea.

So long as they explain exactly what it is, and don't try to maintain kayfabe, then it could end up as a sort of "celeb Tough-Enough" I guess. I suspect it will be more taking the piss, though.

Incidentally, one of the presenters is Roddy Piper, and the trainers are Joey Legend and D'lo Brown.

Would they all have ring names as in pro wrestling?

Kate "The Brawler" Lawler. Naah!
Kate "The Queen" Lawler.
Kate "Old Bag & Bones" Lawler.
Kate "The Lad" Lawler. Yesss!

Jeff "Jade's Ex" Brazier.
Jeff "I am all over the place" Brazier.
Jeff "The King Of Reality TV" Brazier.
Jeff "For Hire" Brazier.
Jeff "Toothy Grins" Brazier

Jeff "She is behind you - No she is not" Brazier

Etc.

I hope it is exactly like tough enough, really put them through their paces, show people how tough wrestling is.

I guess you are probably going to be right, although im not so sure, the trainers will allow them to take it too lightly.

It sounds like Kate just wants to get herself on tv in the hope the exposure-however crude will lead to further options.Nothing wrong with that and if she gains weight in the process that will be a good thing.

Seems a poor line up though-noone i'd be interested in watching.

True, the line up is quite poor, but it would be interesting to see how much weight Kate has gained/lost since her BB3 triumph and post-Riiise days.

And I never cease to marvel at that odd-shaped nose and orange glo skin/tan.

Oh dear, only a couple of years ago, our Katie would have been aspiring to present such a show - now she is reduced to being the "performing monkey". What a disaster zone her career has become.

(btw it seems a funny way to prepare for a summer wedding to me - who wants to look burly and sport a shiner on their nuptial photies??)

I should point out that the people should be the celebrities, not the badgers.

I can't think of any celebrity badgers other than the ones that appear on Harry Hill and Badger from Bodger and Badger.

Badger from The Wind in the Willows would kick Kate Lawler's ass.

Good point. I completely forgot about the supposed summer wedding.

If it actually occurred, the countdown then begins on how long before it breaks up. I give it 3 months.

In the last picture of I saw of her, she made Kate Moss look clinically obese so I cannot imagine her doing any form of wrestling.

Let's hope her and her racist thug of a fiancee disappear off to Madrid never to be seen again. Fat chance. We'll have the wedding photos, the honeymoon photos, the pregnancy photos, the baby photos, the 2nd baby photos, the trial separation photos, the acrimonous split photos, the divorce photos and the 'how I overcame my eating disorder - lose 4 stone the Kate Lawler way' photos.

The thing is, this appears to be taken from a press release of from the production company or something like that:

http://pwbts.com/messages/139.htm

"This is wrestling as its never been done before with the celebrities being taught real skills to win real bouts."

So there is some kayfabe, perhaps. It sounds like all 12 celebs will be on it each week in different combinations, so they'll all get roughly the same exposure, even if booked to lose, assuming there results are predetermined. Surely it all has to be booked tightly, otherwise it would be (a) horrendous and (b) would not run to time.

It's all sounding like a bad idea to me, especially as a lot of people never see today's pro wrestling and their last exposure to it will have been Kent Walton on a Saturday afternoon.

"Eas-y!... Eas-y!... Eas-y!..."

LMAO

She is a Big Brother contestant. Cleaning up the spunk in a peep show booth is a step up.
