Alex 'moaned and whinged', or complained with good reason, depending on your standpoint on people using the communal shower as a toilet, during what came to be known as Weegate, which took place around the beginning of the second week, I believe. Thereafter he did not 'moan and whinge' and, in fact, was very stoical during his weeks on the poor side (as many weeks as Kate had), even during that first week when conditions were very much harsher than in subsequent weeks.
