Fish BBQ
I am probably going to a fish based BBQ later this week.
We all like fish but don't eat a lot of it. So, what fish is best on a BBQ and the best way of cooking it? Also, what cider would go best with fish? Quite fancy some refreshing cider as opposed to white wine on a warm balmy evening. |

Mackerel, prawns and scallops done on skewers which are very quick to cook, always prefer ice cold guinness with bbq fish.

Seabass / Seabream.
If you can see if you can get a BBQ fish holder. If not you could use a banana leaf or just some foil. I'd use white wine (for the cooking - a little to moisten the fish, especially if you're wrapping it) but a light sweet cider could go well. I like Henney's Sweet but just get a selection (supermarkets usually do 4 for £5 or so) and see what works best. |

I'd give mackerel a miss unless it is 'caught that day' fresh (when it is delicious).
Sardines, sea bass or sea bream would be my choice. |

Salmon is quite nice in the BBQ as is mackerel which I had once 2/3 years ago from the sainsburys fish counter that was in a marinade and on a stick to keep it together. Really nice cooked on the BBQ
Cider, I like strawberry and lime cider, kopperberg is best but its down to personal choice there is loads of different flavours so maybe get 2/3 different ones? The original apple flavour, for me the best is thatchers gold but not many places sell it so either bulmers or magners would be good which ever is on offer. Then maybe get 2 other fruity flavours, there is red berry, strawberry and lime, mixed berry, black cherry, pear, mango and raspberry. As said before my favourite is strawberry and lime but it's up to you |
