How can I watch Lovefilm on my TV?
I would like to stream Lovefilm movies and watch on the TV in the lounge and am looking for the best way to do this.
I do have an X Box 360 connected to the TV but after paying for the Lovefilm subscription I don't feel inclined to pay Microsoft for an X Box Gold subscription. I'm not 'tight' I just feel it's a bit unfair. We have BT Infinity broadband and I realise that I could have a BT TV box and watch via that (I think) but as I am a short wave radio listener I don't want to use a power line adaptor to link with the router as that would interfere with radio reception. Running an ethernet cable from the router to a BT TV box is also not practicable. Sorry if I seem to be asking for a lot but can anyone suggest a wi-fi device that would solve my problem. Many thanks. |

Roku or WD Live?
Although for the cost of those, you could just buy a Gold sub for Xbox Live. |

Have you considered an small compact net top PC connected to the tv? Which also gives you the access to the internet as well on your TV not just to lovefilm, but access to other services if you want etc..
I know they are more expensive then an xbox gold membership http://www.ebuyer.com/search?sort=pr...=nettop&page=1 for example I have one of these from these people http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-DC7700-...item4ac6ffe56d I dropped in a 2nd hand graphics card and now have a small media centre..it also includes windows 7 for £54.99 it is cheap as chips. With something like this you can sign up to love film etc as you want wifi you will need a wifi adapter Just an idea? |

Get a PS3. Ignoring the games side of it (I know you have Xbox), you'll get a web browser, Blu-Ray player and loads of other stuff too.

I did try that Anika but for some reason I couldn't get the picture to fill the screen. Maybe worth playing around with this option a bit more.

I'm going to suggest a Samsung F-series blu-ray player. Can anyone confirm if LoveFilm is on their model (availability of apps often vary depending on the model)
The other advantage would be that it could also give you access to all the other catch-up services that are free... iPlayer, BBC Sport, ITV Player, 4oD, Demand5 and possibly Crackle. Makes it all the more worth-while. |

I'm able to watch lovefilm on my tv in 2 ways.
1st through my wii console 2nd Connected via hdmi cable from my laptop ( Think I only paid a £10.00 for a 10m hdmi cable on ebay) Which I have permanently fixed going round my room, so I can simply watch whatever I want from my laptop just by plugging in my laptop. |

Hi, it's a Toshiba 32" flat screen TV but at this moment in time I'm not sure of the exact model number. It is about 6 or 7 years old although the picture quality is excellent. I have connected my laptop to the TV using the usual HDMI cable and I get a picture on screen but it's much reduced in size and doesn't fill the whole screen. I'm also finding that as our BT Homehub is upstairs (the TV is downstairs) there is quite a bit of buffering. Rather strange as when we watch BBC iPlayer via the X-Box, that's fine.
I'm considering some of the options mentioned above or maybe I should just bite the bullet and buy an X-Box Gold subscription. |
