Karl Howman 'doing a Waterman' singing 'Mulberry Days' for, erm, 'Mulberry'. I just find it utterly lovely.

The Batman (2004) by The Edge

I like the way it recalls the theme to the iconic but camp 60s live action series but delivers a much more menacing mood.

Plus there's a great guitarist doing it.

Interesting that it was replaced after a series or two in favour of a lighter theme.

The original Law & Order, especially the long version used in the earlier seasons.

Always remember the show for displaying a pair of knockers that impressed me at a young age!

(and a throat cutting if I remember rightly)

I loved The Persuaders]
Seconded. John Barry at his best. Great incidental music too by Ken Thorne.

Hmmm.. The Persuaders theme has stood up a bit better than the programme for me... thank the late great John Barry for that....
Couldn't agree more. Great theme and could have been an all time great show if it hadn't been ruined by Tony Curtis not bothering to learn his lines and umming and arring all the time, but that's another off-topic story completely.

Many ITC themes are worthy candidates here, that's if the OP is prepared to allow themes without lyrics, because 'songs' are specified. If so, the Department S theme is another classic from the great Ed Astley.

PS - I just noticed I posted on this thread a while ago. Doh!
