Hi. I have bought a Grade A Foxsat HDR 500 to take to my place in France next week. I assume I will be able to access the freesat service by inputting my UK postcode? I have already set the dish up using my UK sky dish without any problems and my French dish already points at 28.2e.

BTW can anyone tell me how to easily view the signal strength/quality meter while looking at a particular channel.

Many thanks

Yes - you will be able to access the channels you received via the Sky EPG - no need for any more setup. You will not however normally get access to the IP services (On demand).

Q.2 Press I (lower case letter)

More likely to get the freesat EPG channels.

No, it is the 'i' (information) button located between the volume and the channel buttons. This will show all the details relative to the channel and the broadcast in what is called the i-plate. Signal/Quality strength is bottom right. Pressing 'i' a second time gives detailed programme information. To exit press 'i' again or 'Exit'. Should be on page 28/29 of the handbook.

Thank you. Is this the only way to see it? This is quite small and does not give % readings. Also very hard to see from up a ladder!

No, if you press 'Menu' and then choose 'Diagnostics' you will see a splash screen with the signal strength and quality for the channel you are currently tuned to as a bar graph but also showing the percentages. Not sure just how accurate they are but they are a good guide.

Thanks - the manual is very unhelpful in this regard.

Get someone else to watch the graph - two DECT phones in intercom mode are just the thing if you don't have a meter.
