However, I tried to watch a video off a website the other day, and it just "stutter-stutter". I then tried watching it on my Nexus 4, and it played perfectly. So clearly it struggles with video.

Also, web browsing can be very slow on some sites (using chrome but I like the functionality), and the overall responsiveness of the device is lacking compared to the Nexus 4.

So the performance increases will make this a much nicer thing to use even if you don't use it for anything else.

I paid £200 for my 16GB Nexus 7 2012 (as i believe it is now officially designated,) 12 months ago. so basically the same price.

Not available until at least mid September in the UK now. hmm

At least it will give us some time to check out the reviews before we buy it.

A first thing I noticed was that Google had wizened up on that even and marketing. They went clever, be it a heck of a lot snipey. Here's yet another one.

So it does in fact still have that GPS. I quite wonder if it gets more acknowledged this time.

gps is (for me) important on a tablet. Its exactly what I'd expect on a fondleslab.

I'll continue to think that that 'world' accolade as likely as not belongs to the Nexus 10.

Edit- you might just have missed that mobile discussion on PPI.
Gormond was there and seemed to like the use of PPI, which I don't. The Telegraph is using PPI to aid that 'perception'.

I've got the original Nexus 7 and am torn between waiting for the new one or getting a Nexus 10 to replace my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, which is showing its age on some modern games/apps now. Are there any suggestions of a new Nexus 10? I wouldn't want to get one only for an updated model to be released soon after.

That's life in the tech world. There's always something better coming around the corner. The new N7 is better than the first one but not enough to tempt me into upgrading. I could, however, be tempted by a new N10. I like the 7" form factor but sometimes it would be nicer to have a bigger screen.

Have you tried using MX player and changing from Hardware to software encoding (or the other way around) in the options?

Sometimes a film won't play in hardware encoding but will do in software encoding.

Post the web site so others can try. There are many factors.

Seems to be doing brisk trade on Ebay. Considering we're not going to see it here in the UK for another 8 weeks (which makes no sense!) i may be tempted.
