Would one from America work with our version of Google Play or would there be problems?

only difference would be the plug.

Is it known what the UK model will be priced at?

As well as the nearly £40 postage from the US, won't HMRC slap VAT on top of that?

I can't see much, if any, saving tbh, plus there's the added inconvenience of the the plug mentioned above (and won't it be a 110V charger anyway?), plus the whole thing of buying stuff from eBay.

I will just wait until it comes out over here. At least we can see the reviews before buying and see if there are any bugs.

Yep, me too, I think they've dropped a bollock doing that. I was a nailed on certainty otherwise, but now I'll probably wait and check out the competition nearer the time.

Yes VAT will be aded! The charger itself will be fine. Virtually all chargers on electronics items are "worldwide" (110-230V) these days.

Oh well, guess i'll have to play the waiting game instead.

Link on page 2 of this thread to PC World has 16GB listed as £199.99, same website has 32GB listed as £239.99 - pre order availability 13 Sep.

New Nexus looks great, bought the current version in February and really enjoyed it - excellent value for money.

Except you won't be able to plug it in without an adapter - unless it's one of those with an interchangeable base, and the options are included. (Unlikely for a product intended for the US market only IMO.)

I was rather taking that as read and not a significant issue!

If the power supply had been 110V only (which is now pretty much unkown for electronics and cameras) that would be more costly and awkward.

4G version is £299 - think I'll stick with my 3G 32Gb version for the time being as not enough new features to be worth the cost of an upgrade imo.

That's my attitude too. The new model may be better but I'm still happy with my 3G/32GB Nexus. Maybe I'll upgrade next year when the 3rd generation model comes out. Hopefully by then 4G will be more widespread and cheaper.

The new Nexus 7 might not have support for LTE in Europe.

AP scour the world to find everything negative. It seems more a site to keep Apple readers happy,
Probably more 'race to the bottom' nonsense. They certainly planned it with different LTE firmware/settable LTE so there will be a few on test in the UK too.

I don't mind AP (I visit frequently) but at the moment whether or not LTE is coming to the UK on the Nexus 7 (2013) is pure speculation.

It is, Google gave the specs.

With my tin hat, I have now noticed that that iFixit teardown has joined that wide embargo on mentioning GPS or GPS software on Android tablets. Maybe they will iFIxit and give it a mention. Slightly surprising for them so a mistake?

No 'phew' to Nexus 7 having GPS because according to AU all Android tablets probably have never had GPS.

If Apple ever improve their maps and give GPS standard, maps will then certainly get mentioned.

They both have the simple formulae of following what everyone else says but making claim ownership of the words.
That makes them sound 'racey'.

But by claiming dedication to 'Android' in their name they should at least stop withholding technical info like others do.

BTW AnanTech still does real reviews. gsmarena is another. Not as 'racey' but at least you do get the info.
