Bizarre signal issue last few days.

I started noticing my voice calls dropping when i'm at home.

I also noticed that once i hung up the call it said No Service where the network indicator normally is on my iPhone.

Before this, it looked like all my voice calls were routed through 2G as when i came off calls before it would show 4 or 5 bars and then slowly the 3G icon would return and back to 2 / 3 bars.

Why do you think it now says no service? I can only assume 2G has been decommissioned and my signal falls to weak to sustain the call as i move around, but why the No Service when i come off calls? It still switches back to 3G after i end the call, so that has confused me.

thanks

Glad I'm not the only one.

Had no issues until this morning, my signal would be very erratic, one minute its 1 bar then 5, but whatever the signal strength I couldn't make calls or send texts OR use the Internet, everything stopped working. That was from say 5am until 8am but from then on everything is back to normal and working fine.

Must be some work their doing or something? Normally if Three know of any issues they put a message on the 333 number when first dialled

I also took a trip over to stoke on Trent today

I tried to use 3G there and despite a good signal reported on the phone I was getting no throughput.

The voice calling is back to normal now.

Maybe they were doing something as you say.

My signal is full but every so often my phone loses internet connectivity, The phone was sat on my coffee table when this happened and wasn't being moved. It'll go from showing H to just showing signal bars. I know it's not going back to 2G as it shows R when it does that.

Switching between antennas/sites. Sometimes takes awhile longer than it should to come back to 3G. Seems to be a definite glitch EE/Three network side. I'm told the core network is having major upgrades with both 3 & EE as we speak might be unrelated though.

Must admit I have noticed this occasionally on Three when I am going between areas that the handover isn't the best a lot worse between upgraded and non-upgraded masts though sometimes it can take 2-3 minutes before I get data back. Hope this eventually gets resolved.

I must be on a borderline between two base stations then as the phone was on my coffee table the whole time and was never moved. Whatever it is, I hope it's not going to be a regular occurance. I guess the high pressure we're experiencing is causing issues with the signal. My phone was showing full signal whereas until this recent heat it would only show 2 bars.
