..but officially you don't own copyright?

One person did this yet they put a few up that I had made myself and I reported the copyright issue to youtube and after a week the person took them down. Now it has happened again with 2 other accounts but they have not taken the personal ones.
Basically I can't do anything can I?

I know it is not the end of the world but kinda wondering why anyone would do it? It does take time putting them up

^^Possibly they are trying to increase the number of viewers so that they earn money. That's the only thing I can think of...

no idea how to resolve though.

If you don't own the copyright then there isn't anything you can do.

If you have uploaded the videos yourself without the permission of the copyright holder, then it's a bit hypocritical of you to moan about someone doing to you what you have done to the copyright holder.

If you do have permission of the copyright holder then contact them, they then contact YouTube to have the others uploaded without their permission removed.

I do see your point however I was just asking really,,,not necessarily moaning
ITV and BBC generally don't seem to be bothered about copyright (to some degree) and I don't ever use the videos to make money
if anyone complained then the video would come down straight away

Fair enough.

In that case you really can't do anything, only the original copyright holder can have such content removed.

As you say though, that's unlikely as both the BBC and ITV seem usually fine about short clips and parts of their programmes being on YouTube. I guess they see it as free advertising.

Robert, if you made a few slide-shows or mixes with the copyrighted material, you can't claim any copyrights yourself. If I for instance upload the song "Stairway to heaven" on Youtube and make a slideshow video, it doesn't mean I can say that video is my own. On the other hand, If I played and sang "Stairway to heaven" and made a video of myself, I could ask Youtube to remove the video, but only if the person who uploaded it was posing to be me.
