The symptoms may be the same, but it seems the cause is different this time around. It was the programme CRIDs on all programmes on all the Sky channels that were broken last time. Those look OK at the moment, so it is a different issue. It could be just one programme somewhere in the EPG that has a broken entry, some other EPG problem or something else entirely. Vestel SD recorders were affected too last time around, but are still working normally this time, which also suggests it is a different issue.

I have a HXD 995 that is also showing update. I remember this problem last year as well. SHMBO is saying that it plays recordings for 30 secs then crashes.

Same problem with my recorder as well. Strange mix of emotions from furious that this has happened again.....to relief that the machine hasn't given up the ghost.

Good news! The issue is now resolved for me. So pleased that they resolved it much quicker this time!

Annoyed of High Wycombe!
All 10 of my Sony 870/ Pioneer LX60D recorders stuck on UPDATE this morning!!!!! Note that four are on Crystal Palace, and the other six are on Hannington transmitters. Did the usual of holding the power button till it switched off, then quickly power back on again, else it goes straight back into update mode again. Several did a repair, however they all seem to be having problems with the DIGITAL EPG, that is, showing a channel for a few seconds, then going blank when the DIGITAL EPG tries to fill, so will have to switch to the dead GUIDE+ for now, till "someone" says it's "fixed" again!!!!!
Before I had a chance to post this found that this problem has been fixed, again! Don't know if Sony/Pioneer will ever fix this, probably hoping that all their old recorders die a "natural" death! Now have to just retune the four machines I did the "France" fix on, and re-enter the timers for the coming week. These ones only had a few set, but will have to check what didn't record last night on all my recorders, and see if any repeats coming up to get the programs I wanted to archive. |

Did Sony solve it this morning ... I doubt it..
My money is on Atos finding the problem. It is unlikely that Sony/pioneer can solve it ... |

having got it back working properly again for a week it has now gone down again. it appears to have happened between the overnight showing of "the good wife" and lunchtime today(which is basically the same time period as last time). currently disconnecting from mains does no good and neither does a factory reset. how long before they sort it out this time????

Fine on the 995 here off Emley Moor but I see on the Sony website (post 105) I linked to earlier others are complaining.

After last Friday's debacle and eventually sorting itself out, my Pioneer 560 HDD/DVD recorder (same works as Sony), has indeed gone down today from about lunchtime and that might explain why a recording of Judge Judy went on and on recording for over three hours.
I'm just ignoring mine this time and see whether the problem will again correct itself, before and if I go through the setup again. Anyway, having a Humax twin tuner, I have put any important recording onto that.
