Chrome Android Ap Update
In the latest Chrome Android Ap update, they've supposedly 'improved' things by having the address bar automatically disappear - leaving the actual page content in full screen mode.
I *HATE* THIS. Does anyone know of a means of disabling the so called 'improvement'? I've looked in settings but have drawn a blank. Please help! |

you could of course just uninstall the update. however i can't see why gaining the extra part of the screen for viewing the actual websites can be seen as a bad thing. safari on iOS has been doing this for quite some time. |

There's no way to turn it off at present. A few people have asked for the option on the Chrome blog, so they might include something in a future release. I find it quite useful on smaller screen devices eg. the Nexus 4 and 7.

Takes a moment to get used to. But it's a good feature. Especially in landscape.

The tiniest of scrolls upwards brings it back, you don't need to go all the way to the top. Much better, you see far more of the page.

I've been using it on Dolphin browser for ages and love it although there is an option to turn it off (swipe from right and then a button) I always have it this way.
Might be worth trying Dolphin if you don't like it that much as it's an excellent browser even if it's not just for the issue you have with Chrome. Might as well give it a go as it's free on the Play store. |

Android chrome is just annoying, I want to be able to use it but it's so buggy & prone to crashing/ locking up that I had to get rid. Switched to using the Next Browser (and my phone now crashes about 1000% less), which has a toggle in prefs to auto hide address bar.

maybe its the phone (galaxy s2), filtering the chrome reviews many people reported it locking up in a similar way. A lot cheaper to switch browsers than phones though
