Well, there was one "tosser" yelled out when he barged through the crowd to see Penhale about the "asbestos" flyer. What's interesting is that even to this day, DM turns in reflex for a second when he hears that. It still gets to him a little.

Also, not so sure about the villagers being all warm and huggy to him. For one thing, he can't get most of them to come for their vaccinations because he terrifies them. The woman with the speculum didn't trust his judgment and wanted to go to a specialist. On the other hand, he has been his diagnostic mastermind and I think that is what the villagers really most appreciate about him; also, that no matter his demeanor, when they are in crisis, he is capably there for them 24/7.

One interpretation of the bicycle woman asking LG about how the doc is, is that it could easily have been done "tongue in cheek", as a kind of joke, giving he had thrown up as he had. That's how I thought it went.

And, what had the man had to eat, to produce that chunky yellowish vomit? DM should chew his food a bit more, it seems.

Well, it's a bit incongruent to say DM could not get over a short wall, since he had just run down to the house in pretty good time covering a distance his younger assistant thought required the use of her bike.

So, it's a bit conflicting regarding DM's capabilities, but it sure could show that MC was not yet back to full active form.

Let's not forget that episodes, and even various portions of episodes, are shot out of sequence. I have noticed his appearance vary drastically from scene to scene within the same episode sometimes.

Yeah, I'm not trying to make a point here - just asking a Q. It stood out because it was awkward, not the way they usually show him when he is on the run to a crisis. He usually seems to be gliding up stairs, over benches, through the air

I wanted to add that it may have been too steep a jump for him to make. Morwenna doesn't jump down to get Malcom either.

I thought the majority of his time out sick affected E5. Someone who was on the crew confirmed that there was a lack of DM in E5 and they expanded the Penhale on the moor nonsense to fill time since MC was ill. Of course, I know there's a lot of filming out of sequence, so who knows!

Yes, I did notice that. That was one of several reasons I was relieved when DM took the baby from her. I also noticed in her quick moment of attempting to soothe the baby, her hand almost looked claw-like!

I wonder how hard it is for the crew and actors and parents to allow an unhappy baby to continue to be unhappy long enough to get a scene filmed.

That's true, CopperHill. Was that in S4 or 5? I remember it happening and I remember Bert complaining that he was working for his son. Here's something else. Near the end of S5, Al promised Ruth 10% of the restaurant's profits as compensation for having taken her fence money.

I'll have to watch it again. I thought the wall was only about 2 feet high...DM had to hold on to Morwenna and groaned as he stepped down. At the latter part of the scene Morwenna herself jumped down. I don't think the wall was that high and MC would have found a more cavalier way of getting down. Of course whatever bug he had made him weak. After I've been really sick....very infrequently.....I sweat like a pig at the least exertion. But, he's all better now...in fine form...which is good.

Every minute was a bit difficult

I didn't think anything of that scene when I first saw it except that he seemed to make hard work of getting to his patient.

I just looked at that scene again and you can see that there is a set of steps just to the right but instead he tromps through the flower bed and then hands Morwenna a bag and then leans on the bag just a little for the step down from the wall. I saw it as a bit of a comedic thing, having her hold the bag, and then relying on her to stand still while he used her and the bag as a balance point for his move. Now that I've said that, there is a bit of relying on his women and leaving them holding the bag in this ep. Digging too deep here????

We've seen Super-Doc (been done) but in his somewhat sleepless and disturbed Doc state, things get harder to do than when you are feeling well. I think it was Doc, not MC there.

He didn't run to Penhale either, just more walked up. I found his unstapling Joe just a bit awkward and much and can't even imagine what happened to Joe's hand because of it. Sorry, that was another subject. Done a bit of unstapling myself.

I heard that when DM aired for Acorn.tv viewers, the wedding song was different, it wasn't Rod Stewart's "Sailing." Does anyone know what the song was?

It was something I've never heard and I wasn't that crazy about the lyrics either. I'm glad I got to see the original.

I've noticed how Joe Absolom has really aged this series. I very much like Joe, but don't like what they've done with his sulky character so far in S6.

He's been like the perpetual kid, with striped polo shirts and sneakers, but (seems like overnight) his age has caught up with him. At times he looks 40. I remember they used to refer to Dick Clark, American producer and host, as perennially young - then it seemed like all at once he fully looked his age. How old do you think Al is supposed to be in the show?

He's supposed to be around 28 or so. He said very clearly he was "25" when Peter Cronk's mom burned her arm in the hot oil.

Did you notice that he is going bald on the top of his head?

At the Acorn facebook page, someone asked about "Sailing" being replaced (could have been someone who participates here who asked - I'm removing the names). This is the conversation:

I appreciate Acorn TV getting us Doc Martin in the US so quickly - but. . .how could you replace "Sailing" as Doc and Louisa's wedding dance song in the original UK version with whatever is on your site!! For those of us fans who know the story behind "Sailing" and Martin Clunes it's a crime.

Acorn Online: Clearing music in the U.S. is much different than the UK. It's often times the reasons some of the best shows aren't out at all.
