I think that's a little unfair. It is August and I'm sure there are plenty of original programmes coming up in the autumn, some of which may make the chart. We have had Badults which flopped; there's Bad Education and Boom Town coming soon.

What does it say about the ITV portfolio, to have 7 shows in the multichannel top 30, compared with 18 for the Beeb?

By the way, Wolfblood is getting a repeat tomorrow night from 19:00 on Three.

I notice how BT Sport 1's top 10 includes 3 shows that weren't actually sport just talking about what sport they are going to show (and selling some broadband no doubt).

And one of the sports shows that made the top 10 aired at 3am!

Enhanced by ITV having locked in a late afternoon audience with the FA Shield, it is well known that a live afternoon football match on Saturday or Sunday boosts the early evening line up on the same channel.

Even then, only 900k ahead of BBC1's competing gameshow repeat...

Shame the One Man and Dog segment wasn't on last night - I could have gloated about sheepdog trials beating Man Utd (who else...) on ITV by two to one!

Not sure 2.6m ave is a brilliant live football figure for the season curtain raiser on a grey and fairly wet August Sunday.”

Seems pretty disappointing given it was Moyes first game and there is presumably an extra dimension added to the interest this time post Sir AF. ITV's last Community Shield for a while.
Then again there seems little appetite for tv in general at the moment. Lacklustre figure for Bolt really considering its the second most important title in Athletics - just shows how much value is added with the Olympics.
Countryfile is amazingly resilient all things considered. And Tipping Point getting good figures- amazing considering its just watching counters drop like in ancient penny arcades. Still thing they should vary the prize values of the counters a bit.

They should definitely go back to having the semi-finals running as one show, and the final as two shows. The split format just has not worked since 2010 - when you have the auditions pulling in 9-10m, and the live shows doing less, it hampers the potential rating for the final. It's capable of 13m+ each year in my opinion. Never mind the fact that the results portion hardly takes more than 10-15 minutes. They can slot Corrie in somewhere as part of it's 'big week'. A 90/105-minute show is good enough. Sorry for bringing this subject up again.

Now, back to last night's figures. The White Queen seems to have found it's level. Dragon's Den almost a million on last series' opener. A little rise for Law & Order. The C4 dramas still steady but I think they've buggered up the scheduling for 'The Mill'. They really should have had it on four consecutive Sundays.

Seeing as X Factor looks to be back on the 31st, don't you think ITV would be in danger of overkilling it, having it on virtually every Saturday & Sunday from the start to the end? The Harry Potter premiere may be able to boost the launch episode, but it'll probably have to rely on content & momentum/hype to keep it going throughout. Seeing as there may be 12 contestants in the lives this year, I wouldn't expect to see the shows running longer than 2 hours at best.

I mentioned this yesterday - Stepping Out doesn't seem like a show which should be plonked on a Saturday/Sunday before X Factor as it won't give it a good enough lead-in, but we shall see what ITV do with it.”

I suppose it should have done by now-next week is the tenth and last episode.

Must be a time delay in Granada land! Or earlier sunsets?

nice that the two of you can agree on something and are giving the new entrant a fair chance.

Considering it wasn't showing anything of value, the ratings are fairly okay (inline with SS3 and better than SS4).

The big test comes when they start showing PL games, though there's only so far 38 games will go.

UFC has a hardcore following. Last time they ran the UK, at Nottingham Arena, tickets were £75-£225 and it was full. They were doing 500k viewers in a 11pm on Sunday slot on former channel Virgin 1 at one point.

A much better week for Channel 4, helped by some strong raters including The Mill and Southcliffe.

1. THE MILL - 2.85
2. SOUTHCLIFFE - 2.77
3. 24 HOURS IN A & E - 2.24
4. HOW TO GET A COUNCIL HOUSE - 2.02
5. UNDERCOVER BOSS -1.96”

First time since w/e 7th Apr that Channel 4 has reached above 5% (excl. +1). Helped no doubt by the success of The Mill and Southclffe debuting strongly. It should also be noted that daytime seems to be recovering (for the meantime) with no new or repeat episodes of Tipping Point and The Chase, which in turn is benefiting DOND. Come September, it will probably return to the status quo.

I wonder if anyone could provide DOND's ratings for the last fortnight (excluding +1) with share? If possible, it would be great to see how much it has picked up. Many thanks.

Elsewhere in weekly shares;

BBC1 - 19.6%
BBC2 - 4.9%
ITV - 13.1% (14.0% incl. +1)
Channel 5 - 4.4% (4.8% incl.+1)

BBC2 has collapsed whilst BBC1 is staying steady. ITV hit a bit of a bum note whilst Channel 5 was flat.

Outstanding timeshift for episode 1 of CSI: New York, which was hurt badly by facing BBC1 cop drama New Tricks for its series premiere on (Tuesday) July 30.

The first instalment of the final season of the long running forensic drama could only capture 1.7m viewers in the overnights. But with recordings and Demand 5 views taken into account, the total audience soared to 2.48m in the consolidated figures.

I wonder if they'll reshow the crossover episode with CSI or skip it since its already aired, there's only 17 episodes which means it'll finish its run by November so I wonder if they'll air Body of Proof or Person of Interest in that slot or just air repeats

Well seeing as it got 4million last week, your spin looks desperate (again).

And I think whats more dissapointing for the BBC is that a derided (but popular) gameshow is beating their big budget drama (and proven by New Tricks big ratings are possible in Summer) by almost a million.

No doubt they would but Family Guy and American Dad do have the advantage of not being available on iPlayer so a lot of other BBC3 shows "suffer" in a way when it comes to Barb ratings with a lot of their audience not being shown in the officials.

Although i don't know the hd for LLF, I'm guessing it will be around 450k. add that to the bulk figure of 5.32 gives; 5.77million (inc +1 6.03million), another fantastic figure for this brilliant show.
