Corrie wasn't dropped. Of course looking at the ratings it's easy to say that LLF shouldn't have been dropped. I felt the same when I realised that's what they were doing but that's because I expected an easy win for BBC1 last night. The ratings were low all round but I think it worked out better for ITV than I was expecting.

If, as everyone predicts, it will be "tonight", we could have last night all over again. Now, given those numbers, will BBC and ITV rip up their schedules for a second night running for rolling news?
There probably is more interest in watching the couple leave and getting a first glimpse of the new Prince than watching someone affix a notice to an easel whilst Sophie Raworth gurns on camera and a reporter interviews Hungarian tourists.
Would ITV forsake that in favour of its primetime Tuesday schedule?
Would BBC1 ditch EE and Holby? Or Luther?
I bet Beeb bosses are more nervous than ITV ones today!”

Of course ITV have little to lose tonight in comparison to last night. Nevertheless I think last night's ratings would put both off doing anything similar in terms of rolling coverage.
