So there's not a football match which should get 1m+ on Sky tonight then?

Okaaay....

The BBC copyrighted hip movements in the late 1940's. I thought everyone knew this.

Inspired by an earlier post, and expanding on my suggestion of what BBC1 should do on Saturday nights until they come up with successful formats of their own, I have devised a Saturday night summer schedule (post The Voice).

2.30 Total Wipeout (rpt)
3.30 That Puppet Game Show (rpt)
4.10 Final Score (or Click and Blandings rpt when Final Score not on)
5.10 BBC News
5.30 Copy Cats (Successful format from CBBC, but with proper prizes!)
6.00 Father Brown (Successful daytime drama rpt)
6.45 Pointless Celebrities
7.30 The National Lottery Quiz Format
8.20 Casualty
9.10 The Frank Skinner Show (New chat show)
9.40 Impractical Jokers/Russell Howards Good News (BBC3 slot)

Surely that would be miles better than the flops they have on at the moment?

Exactly my thinking, and Emma mentioned it.

That's a good schedule but I would go for:

5.30 Question of Sport
6.00 BBC News
6.30 Pointless Celebrities
7.15 Father Brown (new series)
8.00 National Lottery Draws
8.15 Casualty
9.05 Russell Howard's Good News
9.35 Frank Skinner (or other chat show)
10.05 News
10.30 Match of the Day (or other)

Has Under the Dome even got any attention anywhere. I'd heard a bit about it from it's debut stateside but not seen anything about it premiering tonight on C5.

Made the front page of TV and Satellite Week, although that's a publication that generally always gives C5 shows a fair level of coverage.

At least they don't have to worry too much about Ramsay. Hotel Hell started okay last week but the ratings were nothing compared to what even Kitchen Nightmares USA was getting a couple of years ago in the same slot. I thought it might do about 2m and make life really difficult for Dome.

I think Under The Dome will do really well, say 3million inc+1. Its definatly capturing my attention so far.

Remember that Hotel Hell is just an import of the US version, not a UK original. It was never going to set the world alight. Not sure why C4 have decided to air this instead of commissioning a UK version, which could have done quite well for them at 9pm. In fact, is Ramsay doing anything at all for C4 at the moment? Hotel GB was the last thing he did for them and Behind Bars was his most recent solo series and they were quite a while back now.

Channel 5 could have gone two ways tonight, either -
Big Brother fans would be angry about being kept waiting an extra hour to see who wins and switch off, or
Big Brother fans stay with the channel and try out Under The Dome (which started without adverts splitting the shows).
Gut feeling is the move will pay off.

Competing with Jamie Carragher's debut on Monday Night Football on SS1, looks like the banter and knowledge between him and Gary Neville will work well...
Neville "Marking Robin Van Persie is like trying to find a burglar in the house, but you don't know which room"
Carragher "You'd be under the bed"
Neville "You'd be the burglar!"

No chance of it being that high unfortunately. The ceiling for C5 at 10pm these days is about 1.5m for anything other than BBUK, and even if we're generous due to the unique setup tonight with the split BB final, I'm realistic and don't see it topping 1.8m. But they've been clever with it in terms of how it's been launched (next week it might have a better lead-in still in the shape of 'Celebrity Big Brother') so every reason to think it can be an above average performer for at least these first couple of weeks, and from there will depend on if viewers get hooked.

Social media activity is far higher than I'd normally expect for a US drama on Five. So encouraging signs on that front, at least suggesting the demos could be good. Lots of references to The Simpsons Movie and Hank from Breaking Bad.

I hope UTD does well tonight. Thrilling so far. And I've noticed Linda (policewoman) is Jamie Lovato from CSI: New York, meaning she's on C5 twice every week for weeks to come. That isn't a bad thing.

Hope UTD gets a solid rating tonight- genuinely thrilling and intriguing so far. Perhaps game for 1.6 - 1.8 million tonight?

Oh, I know. I still thought it would rate far better than the 1.1-1.3m it managed based on how even his US shows have done here in the past and the fact this was a whole new vehicle for him. I heard it was well trailed and looked good from the trailer. But yeah, odd that they didn't lead with a UK version first.

Why should EE have its highest rating it's only a normal episode nothing's changed. You come out with some random stuff Andy.

Can't wait for the overnights. Saddo alert!

Not that Twitter can necessarily guide us here, but the BBUK winner announcement produced a peak of 6,700 tweets, easily eclipsing the peak of 3,200 tweets for Gina's third place finish in the first show.

I think it will rate well. Although I really didn't see that coming though.

Because the competition is much poorer than usual (from ITV at least)

Rylan Clark appears to be confirming on BOTS that Big Brother will be back for a 15th series next year and with a new theme to replace Secrets and Lies.

Indirectly aimed at me, but I'll reply anyway. When The Sun made up a story about a police investigation into a "paedophile ring" at EastEnders this year (and the police subsequently confirmed they'd carried out no such investigation), do you think Murdoch's rag did that to help EastEnders?!

If they made up a similar story about one or other of the "two ITV shows", I suspect you'd be squealing with rage on here.

Despite being clapped-out cheap rubbish, You've Been Framed! repeats are capable of 3m+ in a Saturday slot two hours earlier than tonight. They are much higher raters than you give them credit for.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but does anyone have the figures for the first Premier League game shown on Sky all those years ago?
