Oh it's possible, the show itself is fairly flimsy, B list celebs( an ITV favourite) impersonating pop stars. It works for the summer, but for winter primetime it would probably struggle. However, since it's an ITV show, you can't take any criticism of it, Andy, even though a lot of my posts have been positive about ITV recently.

I always assumed that it was on more often as well, but as Steve Williams mentioned, people forget when it's on and few will realise if it doesn't come on in any one month. Looking at the BBC Programmes website, excluding recorded specials and counting only regular, live editions, there were the following numbers of shows each year from 2007 to 2012:

2007 - 9
2008 - 10
2009 - 11
2010 - 10
2011 - 8
2012 - 7

So there has been a cutback in expensive live broadcasts, possibly inspired by DQF, but there could be other explanations - crime has fallen a lot in recent years! Anyway, I've assumed four more for this year (which may include one special), for a total of 8.

Yay, good rise for The Americans. It's a really good show (imo) and I feel sure it would've done massively better if they hadn't shown it at that time on a Saturday night, when presumably most people just want to watch crap quiz shows/reality shows etc.

Figures like this for a (tired) show being repeated for the umpteenth time? Doesn't this show the sort of figures a NEW show could have got in these slots?

Quite surprised to see pictures of Samatha Womack returning to EastEnders on Digital Spy. She seemed so disenchanted by the end of her time there I am surprised she was persuaded to return. If the star casings they have made cannot turn around the mediocre ratings that Newmans team is creating then nothing frankly can. Michael French agreement to come back and Barbara Windsor one off appearance means they have one of the strongest cast lists in a long time so ratings should be higher than this summers however as the Letitia Dean revival as iconic Sharon Rickman proved the cast needs inspired scripts and stories and full use of the actors strengths i wish it luck in reversing its fortunes and becoming competitive and watchable again.

Maybe they should just replace YBF with a TV Burp repeat? It would do double what You've Been Framed is getting on a Saturday evening in the summer.

That particular episode of MBB has been shown four times in total: on 14 March 2011, 23 September 2011, 7 July 2012 and last night.



guestofseth pointed out that Big School and Father Figure are in the Programme Information for week commencing 10 August, and suggested they might air together on Friday nights. That's the assumption I've used for my draft schedule.

sn_22, why do you think this scheduling idea is doomed to failure? Good weather is no sure thing; we may have had all the summer we're going to get. I think Walliams and Tate (in particular) are enough of a draw to ensure a decent premiere audience regardless of weather for Big School, which ought to assist Father Figure. After that, the quality will be key.

Yes, if they can't come up with anything new, then that makes perfect sense. Personally I never tire of TV Burp.

22 years later and this clapped out rubbish is still being shown. Yes it's cheap, but who actually finds a VHS clip of a cat falling off a wall from 1992 amusing. I think ITV could have a purge of some of its tired old shows, this and Millionaire are prime candidates as apart from being worn out, just don't rate well.

The thing is, repeats of ...Framed! are pulling in 3m viewers on the fringes of primetime in summer, for peanuts. Brand-new pricey dramas at 9pm in winter have done worse for ITV! It's a commercial no-brainer to show it for as long as these kinds of numbers will watch it. The profit margin must be huge, assuming they're actually putting adverts in it now (I assume they are, given the lacklustre ratings the rest of the evening is getting).

I'd forgotten about Truckers and assumed Thursdays would be The Escape Artist/By Any Means/Ripper Street. I agree with most of it though, except SPOTY is the 15th not the 22nd. Also I would have thought Strictly would start a week later like last year, but I suppose they'd want to launch it on the same night as Atlantis, which will be the 28th unless they want it to end on Christmas Eve like Merlin then it would be the 5th.

I actually have a schedule similar to that but with a much more confusing lay out, been doing it since around March actually (I rarely get any of it right though )

3m people even in the height of summer at teatime when new programmes on both BBC1 and ITV are getting not much more it seems.

Note that all BBC1 were showing against it was a 'clapped out' film. Nobody commissions brand new expensive programming for 6pm on a Saturday in summer.

Even more impressively, Potter had a whopping 34.6% share of 16-24s. That's even more than the 30.7% it had amongst children, which you'd assume would be its strongest demo. OAPs don't like it much though, only a 10.7% share of the over-65s. It peaked overall at 3.2m/23.8% at 5.45pm.

Nice, I'd agree with that. Not sure how many new Midsomers they have although some of those could be repeats I guess. Looks like a strong Autumn for both main channels.

In terms of entertainment for the Autumn ITV has Surprise Surprise (10 x 60), Through The Keyhole (6 x 60), Stepping Out (5 x 90), Celebrity Chase (12 x 60), Big Star Little Star (6 x 60), Prize Island (6 x 60), The Jonathan Ross Show (10 x 60), Fool Britannia (6 x 30), several episodes of The Cube and potentially more episodes of Catchphrase (although my guess is they'll save that for January). Not sure how they'll schedule all of that at all. Plus I doubt we'll see an Autumn run of Take Me Out again as I don't think there's room for it. A longer rest will benefit that show anyway.

Yes but it was still boiling why would people watch the show live when they can catch up later and enjoy the weather. It's exactly the same for YFSF you can't use it as an excuse and then have ago at someone else for using it for another show.

Christmas Day is on a Wednesday this year, so quite plausible for something to run from November to January, for example on a Saturday or Sunday.

Well in the 2006 heatwave ITV was really faltering, with the reality show that dare not say its name on every night.
