Then William will say a few words. The announcement should be fairly soon after the birth. They send a coded message to the Queen first though.

It could well be this evening, it's usually a fairly lengthy labour for a first time mum. I doubt we'll have to wait until tomorrow morning though.

Despite the name, I don't think it will e as graphic as one would think..the trailer is quite upbeat and looks quite fun..

The Killing was cancelled and netflix brought it back in a deal with amc, so its not really "poaching" since they helped revive it.

I'm glad they did, season 3 is faaar better then the drawn out Rosie Larsen case.

It still airs on AMC in the US so they put up the new episode every monday morning after it airs in the US, its much better then having to wait till the season is over...

With Breaking Bad I can understand. It's the finale after all and only 8 left to go. As a special event in those circumstances, fine.

But for me Netflix is about marathon sessions of shows. As many as you want, when you want. And you can't do that with one episode a week unless you wait for them to accumulate a bit which you probably won't be able to do knowing it's there already and feeling as though you are missing out.

Fortunately I don't like the US version of The Killing anyway. But I'm hoping this isn't the start of a trend with Netflix. They claim linear TV is dying on the one hand and then on the other they are conforming to linear TV practices!

I think it was just a better way to bring it to the uk...

They obviously couldn't put the full series up because it is airing on TV in the US...

and its better for people in the UK who otherwise would've had to wait a year to see it on Netflix.

I don't mind 1 a week at all if It means I get to see it pretty much the same time as the US gets it

For me full availability > availability as close as possible to US transmission every time when it comes to these streaming services. Maybe they should carry out a poll of all their members to see which is preferred. I just worry they are losing sight of one of their major USPs.

Anyway, we're slightly off topic here currently. The important points to make in ratings terms are:
1) The Killing was a big flop for Channel 4.
2) It'll be more suited to a streaming service like Netflix.
3) Netflix believe the limited UK audience it had can help drive subscriptions.

no top 10's for Drama yet

ITV and Channels 4 and 5 are still not being tape-checked by Attentional. Some of those channels' programme averages in the DS report may therefore be a bit out.

Well, it started on the Beeb on BBC2, of course, and they showed it in a double bill with American Dad on Saturday nights in 2005 - though I'm assuming they actually bought American Dad and the rights to Family Guy were bundled in with it, because American Dad got the vast majority of the promotion. But they didn't do very well and by Christmas were being stripped daily in late night slots. Then while they kept American Dad on BBC2 initially (with diminished enthusiasm) they palmed Family Guy off to BBC3 the following year (initially with repeats on BBC2, but they abandoned those) but even then they used to show new episodes around midnight. It took a while before it really took off and they moved it to 10pm.

Don't know what benefit you get from HD. The fact the repeats get decent ratings mean most people don't seem to care how old the episodes are. And also, at the moment it's really run out of steam,


Not that embarrassing for a programme clearly shoved in as ballast in case the golf overran, and indeed had virtually no lead in as the golf had actually underrun and the last hour was just interviews and analysis. Though at least they'd picked an episode with a round about golf in it.

When The Voice gets credit for winning its slot against a film premiere and other new programming on ITV, we'll credit Tipping Point for beating a repeat of a show that didn't do much in the first place and the news.

The reach figures show a lot of people are tuning in, which as usual isn't reflected in the slot averages.

Week 1 - no Tests - 2.184m

Week 2 - First Test - 4.527m

In Q1 this year Sky Sports 1 (The Premier League channel) reached 10.984m.

Shame they don't publish reach figures for long slot sports events.

The share is pretty impressive, too. 2.0%, 26 minutes. The highest of every multichannel free or pay, bar ITV2 and 3.
