I think they can shake it off as long as is doesn't suffer a further severe decline. If it stabilises around the 8m mark, or even loses another million, then that will be acceptable.
Bearing this in mind, choosing this to be year to use it to boost something else makes no sense to me. Try it with Britain's Got Talent or Takeaway,which have some stability, sure but with The X Factor? It needs the best slot available to it this time around.
