If it is, viewers will decide. Coronation St can be beaten by very strong BBC One opposition, but if it's not, don't lose sleep. CS is big, but not the ratings monster it once was.

Great figure - and worth noting as of yesterday Film4 is available nationwide on Freeview, having only had 90% coverage previously. Film4+1 will take the former slot at the end of the month.

Jake Humphrey hosted the football from BT Sport’s new East London-based studio.

Additionally, BT Sport 2 averaged 18,000 (0.28%) for its coverage of the JP Morgan Asset Management rugby 7s, hosted by Craig Doyle.”

Any figure for the football on ITV4 last night?

Because she is writing a drama for BBC1 called In The Club about a group of friends who meet at a parent/toddler group and it explores the effects a new baby can have on all their lives. That will be on screen next year and once she's written this she will start on The Syndicate.

The paper Radio Times has Long Lost Family's episode number correct (7/8 on Monday 5 August), which is slightly ironic. Speaking of that magazine:

The way I think of it is in relation to the week the Radio Times covers. In my area it comes out on a Tuesday and covers TV for the seven days starting on the following Saturday. On the Wednesday (day after RT comes out) we get the confirmed schedules for the week after that. So:

Tuesday 30 July: Radio Times goes on sale covering period Sat 3 August to Fri 9 August
Wednesday 31 July: Schedules are confirmed for period Sat 10 August to Fri 16 August

Hope that helps.

Well, I've got one, because I don't think you can buy a telly without Freeview built in, and I do have an aerial, but up until DSO two years ago the reception was so poor around here that I could only get BBC1, 2 and 3 through it. I think a lot of cabled-up areas have cable because they've always had poor terrestrial reception.

I can now get more, but not all the channels, and I watched the BT launch on that, but I'm not doing that full time as a) it doesn't have a card slot and b) I wouldn't be able to record it or anything. The only time I use Freeview now is for checking the news on the red button text when I wake up (because Virgin red button is quite slow) and if my cable ever crashes.

Not an obscure channel, either, given it's free on all platforms (and as Brekkie pointed out, now from all transmitters) and it's run by Channel Four. It's as obscure as ITV2.

Oh, sorry, as well, I went out for dinner on Wednesday night, so you can add one to The Last Leg. And one to whatever who I went out with was going to watch. Sorry I didn't mention that before.

that's nothing, Itv's invincible Wednesday line up was once trounced by 11m watching lowly Exeter on BBC1.

Those BT free launch ratings are the highest the channel will ever receive. Be fascinating to see what tonight's shows get!

Good rating considering it wasn't originally billed.

Film premieres are so difficult to predict - quite often it's somewhat lower profile films which rate well while premieres of big breakout hits hardly do anything.

Hooray, it's the Robbie Exeter reference again! It's been too long since we had that, especially since Brekkie hasn't talked about BBC1 showing the same things on Christmas Day every year for ages.

Anyway, for those not in the know, BBC1 did indeed get a big audience for an Exeter match. But about 1% of the audience were interested in Exeter.

I'm planning to see new movie Red 2 over the weekend, so Film 4 putting Red on last night was beautifully timed.

Betting for the BB eviction is a close call between Hazel and Callum.
Normally I would say BB could do well (those who fancy Hazel, those who hate Hazel) but it clashes with a great repeat of Sherlock, for which BBC One have said "keep watching to the VERY end". That would suggest another series 3 clue just before 10pm, which is around BB eviction time.

To be fair, if they'd launched with bells and whistles and a decent Premier League match it'd be a different story. Opening BT Sports 1 with 'the Hub' and a glorified friendly would not have gripped the public's imagination

So BBC1 are trying to get people to watch a repeat for a extra scene at the end, No one will tune in until 21:55

Bollox, the fact we drew at Old Trafford was a massive news story at the time.

Of course Robbie's use of it is odd, but he did winky-face.

371,000 (1.89%)

The Dealership got underway with an audience below the 1.55m (6.9%) slot average.”

The Dealership got 901k (4.8%) excluding +1, as reported here earlier.

That's true, some films that were huge in the cinema like Avatar and The Inbetweeners only did decently but I assume its because by the time they come to terrestrial TV, most people have seen it,

Wonder where Under the Dome will go? I'm guessing Mondays or Thursdays as Tuesdays is CSI NY, Wednesdays is Love/Hate and Fridays is Big Brother and I don't think they'll scheudle it on The weekend.

Premier League?

I know they are lunchtime K/Os, but even so, those viewing figures will be topped comfortably for fixtures like Tottenham v Chelsea and Everton v Liverpool.

So we can safely say it'll be commissioned for six 20-part series next year then.
