People buy into platforms, whether they realise it or not. I suppose it's herd instinct.
So Microsoft come along, they are the Emo crowd and get a few people to go with them. But it will never grow as a platform because most people are already with the Android/iOS group and have no reason to leave. ----------------- MS needed to swallow their pride and go Android. Create a brand (let's call it Smee for fun) and market the hell out of it. People like brands, they will pay a little more for them. --------------- Top executives nowadays are basically talentless hacks with charm. On the make/on the take. |

If they merge the app stores so that RT and WP8 are one then they got a small chance of clawing it back.

I just got my new Surface 2 and the screen on it is a-ma-zing, darling. And the dragon on the start screen as well. It's what Surface RT should have been, IMO.
