Oh yeah baby.

Massive fan here, I got Season 4 last october when it came out in the US. I cannot wait for Season 5 to come out on DVD. I loved the show, storylines and the acting but I thought the ending was bad, and not right. The last two seasons were bad and I tend to believe that the show finished in Season Four and I take Season 2 as being the best.

Its great to know that there are some DC fans out there

I have watched from the beginning and just loved it! My favourite character has to be Pacey but some of the storylines that Jack had really had me in tears..especially the whole coming out to his father..very sad

I have season 1 on dvd and i got the last ever episdoes (which are on sepearte dvd) at xmas but havent watched them yet as they were so sad. I shed enough tears when i saw them the first time i need to build up to it! lol

I agree with James though, I do think the two parter ending was bad and it didnt really sit right with me although it was brilliantly acted and tear jerkingly sad.

Nice to find ppl to bore..whoops i mean talk to about DC!

Its finally really great to talk to people about DC i am so glad i put this thread up i didnt really expect this much of a response but hey its great!

I love Season 3 its gotta be my fave I guess 5 and 6 were always not gonna be as good as the others cos of them all going to college.

The last episode had its good and bad points but i was always from the start willing joey and pacey to get together cos of the love hate chemistry between which i thought was truely great!!

Thanks u guys for letting me know there are DC fans out there who wanna chat about the show lets hope this thread continues!! x

Yeah, I would say that the best season was the third. Although I loved the break up episode of season 4. It only took 'I miss you Jo' to make me cry...I bought the season four boxset from choicesdirect.com and I got it on Monday morning, they ship so you get it on the day of release!

I feel I need to explain why exactly I thought the ending was bad. Im probobly going to go into too much detail but I would like to get it all out.

For me I just did not like the way Joey ended up with Pacey and the way she picked him instead of Dawson just ruined the show. The show was centered around Dawsons Leery so it is only right and proper that he gets the girl.

Practically every Dawson Creek fan says that it was the right ending and they ALWAYS bring up the chemstry between Katie and Josh as the example of why, but I can agree there was some chemistry between them there was also chemestry between her and James and besides that is irrelvant to the ending.

I think what really annoyed me about the show was the way the producers made Dawson and Joey SO close and then she choose the other guy. I am sure if it was Andie that Pacey went with and Dawson that Joey with that would not annoy me, its the fact they were so close that did it for me.

I feel that it was only right in terms of the shows premise that Dawson and Joey ended up together. After all they were best friends, they knew eachother inside out and they obviously always loved eachother.

The soulmate issue was wrongly represented in the show and viewers always say it wrong. A soulemate is someone who is like you, and going to spend the rest of your life with them is part of it. They are rare, unique and a bond that is shared and cannot be broken.

If you look at all the other movies and tv shows soulmates are always the people who other people are looking for in terms of love and relationships, thats how it goes.

This was supposed to be Dawsons show but the last two seasons foccused too little on him and way too much on Joey and also Pacey and that was just silly. I mean Katie Holmes appeared in EVERY episode and not even James could manage that.

What also strikes me is that Joey always had feelings for Dawson and they never changed. And if you remember in the Season 4 last episode she is increadbly upset that Dawson is leaving, almost heartbroken but when Pacey leaves she is not really that upset. That is a sign of love.

Ultimitly I think the show in the end decided to go for the suprise ending instead of the predictable one and I think that was a wrong move. Dawson should have gone with Joey its as simple as that. No two people could have loved eachother more than Dawson and Joey and I doubt that would have ever split up. I think the show deserved to have the predictable ending because all the other seasons had been building to them getting back together when they were older and they changed it at the end.

She was his one true love and her first love and her only real love. Predictable is sometimes the best way to go. And in the end I think that the producers just decided that because the chemisty between Katie and Josh was real (they were dating) and because most of the show fans liked them as a couple, they bowed down to that ending.

I agree with some of your point however i think that the sole reason why Dawson and Joey never ended up with each other is because they couldnt be both best friends and lovers. I think if they had got together people would of said that was the wrong move as they were bad for each other when in a relationship.

I didnt think Katie and Josh were still together at that point were they???

OK. I agree with both Roxy and James. By the way James I'm impressed with the time and thought you put into your post!!! I agree with Roxy that Dawson and Joey were not great when in a relationship but I also agree with James that it made no sense her chosing Pacey. Here is my theory:-

In every season apart from season 3 the final episode always ended with Joey going back to Dawson whether as his friend or his lover. Then during the next season they would split again before getting back together again. Many men came in and out of Joeys life but she inevitably always went back to Dawson. Even if she makes her decision and chooses Pacey it will not stop her going back to Dawson as she has made this descision before in season 3 and season 4 showed that however much she tried to love someone else she always goes back to Dawson!!!! Therefore I think the only real end to the story or the cycle would have been if Joey had died instead of Jen. Death would have been the only way to break the cycle!!!

I would say that from series 2 onwards it was Joey's Creek!!!!

Well I disagree there are many relationships where the partners are best friends with eachother.

Its a shame really in some ways as Jen was jus as good of a character as Joey!
I actually would of liked to see her of got it together with Dawson properly

No, Joey was in every episode.

Dawson had three ones where he was not in.

What do you guys make of my ending theory???

Personally I thought they should have given Jen and Jack more airtime. They had much more potential storylines. Jack could have been a fantastic character. I mean they only once briefly touched on Jack's feelings about his mum and sister both being depressed and having some mental problems and they never explored Jack's feelings about Tim's death. It was like they gave him one storyline, him being gay, and then he sort of just became a bit part and occasionally would say something to represent how gay people fitted in to various situations but never was allowed to become more than "the gay one." I think Kerr Smith was possibly one of the best actors on the show as well he brought me to tears all the time which none of the others did. Apart from at Mitch's funeral when I cryed at whatever anyone said.

Just finished watching my season 4 box set. I cried so much. For me the stand out episodes were You had me at Goodbye because of Andies speech, A winters tale because Mr Brooks death had me crying for at least 20 mins after I had finished watching it, Promicide because it explained so much about why Pacey is Pacey and why Jack is Jack and The Graduate as it was so sad and sweet especially Joey's speech!!!

I'm not a Dawson fan, not in the slightest, but I do agree that he and Joey had some chemistry. I loved Pacey and Joey together, but I guess I thought the ending could have been better. I mean, my favourite couple got together in the end, but it just felt a bit flat. I loved the episode where they got locked in the supermarket, you got the real chemistry there, but the final episode just felt SO forced to me. I think they should have done something totally different...like having Joey die, that was a great idea. Would have had everyone in floods of tears too!
And I think Joey did get too much time in the show. Watching the first two seasons, it was so much more equal between the characters, but from season four onwards, it sorta all centred around Joey, which made everybody pick up on her flaws, namely her awful whining.

It's such a shame though, because the idea of Kevin Williamson coming back to write the finale seemed so great, but it was such a cop-out. He wrote the first two seasons, whereby the whole show basically was about Joey and Dawson being made for each other, then in the finale, he decided Pacey and Joey should get together. It felt soooooo forced though. I was really disappointed, although I give him credit for the Jen scenes, I cried my eyes out. If it was up to me, I would have ended the show with the supermarket episode, but then I liked the idea of Pacey and Joey getting together!

Also agree could easily stopped at end of series four when Dawson and Joey kissed. They should do spin off series with Andie in Italy. It could be good to see what happens to her.

i have to disagree slightly i actuallky really enjoyed the last series and was really disappointed that it had to end!

I do wish that they had focused abit on the other characters in the shop cos they were jus as important.
