I think it was brillant the way the producers had made Joey and Dawson so close, i think it gripped the viewers and made them believe they were soulmates destined to be together. However i think that by them being so close was part of why they could never be together, their history was to long. Dawson thought he knew Joey inside out, but as his girlfriend he had no idea what she was about and what she wanted. Where as with Pacey everything was new, different and exciting, which is how relationships are suppose to start and what made Joey and Pacey so very special.
I think it was great how D.C went agaist all the rules of soulmates ending up together because the truth being maybe it happens in the movies but in real life it hardly ever works like that.
I do agree with many who believe that Joey tolok over the show. I personally wish that hadnt happened as there were so many more storylines that they could of developed on with Jack or Jen which would of interested the viewers just as much. However it did happen and we still watched didnt we?! That was because we all still wanted to know "Will they wont they?" "Pacey or Dawson?" we were still hooked on D.C! Thats why were are out there buying it on DVD and reliving it! If we thought it turned out that badly why would we bother?
Joey had feelings for Dawson cos he was her first love, and i think the producers tried to make an emphasis on first loves being important to people. With Joey and Dawson because of their long history and close friendship being each others first love was important to them, but that was mainly cos they cared for each other still, but was it love they felt or merly jus friendship. If it was love then why did they split up in the first place, and for Joey to run straight into the arms or Jack? That cant be love! When Joey actually wanted him back at the start of season 3 if he loved her so much and thought they were meant to be together why did he reject her and push her into the arms of Pacey?
I actually thought that as a character Dawson was selfish. He said that he and Joey were true friends (soulmates even) but he didnt actually want to see her happy only himself. As for him and Pacey they had been friends since they were 5yrs old and he jus rejected him when he found out in Season 3 about him and Joey but still was friends with Joey. After a long friendship he was pretty keen to throw it away for a girl, what kind of friend does that make him?
As for the ending i feel it was was the right one for many reasons i dont agree with it being because of the Josh and Katie sparks. I think it has more to do with the characters being made for each. She went with the love that rightly made her feel ALIVE! Pacey did that to her, like no one else could especially not Dawson! He jus made her feel safe!”

See I think the show was supposed to foccuss around him, as he was the main character ir was supposed to be. In 99% of the cases the main character would have got the girl.

Exactly, there history was long therefore they knew what to expect and they knew eachother so well, that they had to end up together.

The show was too predictible with this storyline, and thats what ruined it for me. The fact that they had hated eacother all their lives, argued so many times and then found out they had feelings for eachother just reeks of predictibleness. In real life if you hate someone, you hate them for a reason.
I also think that Paceys chase of Joey was mainly to show Dawson he had "got the girl" and he had beaten Dawson, and he kept rubbing Dawsons nose all the time. After being jelous of Dawsons and Joeys friendship, which he never had thats what motivated his character.

Well, I don't agree with that. Eventually he accepted Pacey and Joey as a couple and remember he let her go sailing with her at the end of Season 3. She hurt him massivly, so she and Pacey were the ones who were very selfish to Dawson and his feelings. They should have told him straight away about their relationship, instead he finds out from Jen which is probobly the worst way.
In the end Dawson let her go and have a life with Pacey which does not make him selfish.
My ideal ending would have been if Joey died, then Dawson went with Jen, Pacey with Andie.
The bottom line is, that I cannot imagine Joey and Paceys relationship lasting at all. They always argued, he would no doubt cheat on her and she would fall into Dawsons arms yet again. The ending does not give the same "forever a couple" feeling that you always feel in Romantic movies and the truth is no one could have loved eachother more than Dawson and Joey and thats what drove them apart but should have made them a couple.
