An interesting concept by Ubuntu, theyve launched a crowd funded mobuile phone that drives the idea that your smartphone can also be your PC, and also pushing the idea that "accelerates the adoption of new technologies and drives them down into the mainstream."

Is it wrong to call the phone sexy?

I like the principle of it, it sounds marvellous.

They are going against the grain by not following Android venders bigger is better mantra. I like the idea of a 4.5 inch phone, this is one of the reasons I won't upgrade to one of the new flagships from Samsung or LG its just too big and frankly I am past the point of caring about how big the cock is on these handsets when they don't offer anything new in terms of functionality.

So this is to be welcomed I am tempted to donate....we'll see.

Very nice to see something of a risk being taken with a phone - it certainly looks very nice and if the build quality and software match up they could be on to something a bit special.

I think it will be a tough sell though outside of tech fans with the price and lack of a well known brand name.

One to watch.

I really like the concept a lot. And it's great that it will be a dual-boot of Android and Ubuntu. I do think that the funding target is extremely optimistic for the time frame though, but I'd really like to see this device become a reality.

I wouldn't say it's the perfect device, but it seems far closer to an all-round best in class than other devices out there.
