Well, there's two things I know about Katie Hopkins

1. She'll do anything for a moment of fame
2. She likes shagging in the great outdoors.

So I'm going to say, yup, probably was. I'd rather watch a honey badger pumping than see her chowing down though.

I don't think it's because she's suddenly gone "quieter", as she regularly writes for the Daily Mail, and ( I know it's only my opinión....) but most of her articles are very well written and usually spot on. I think the problem with the people that don't like her is that they can't find anything now to show their dislike of her!........

I'd agree that her writing isn't terrible, but she probably has a sub going through everything and jazzing it up, as well as checking the legals.

She trolls very well and must make publishers a lot of money through the amount or people sharing her latest outbursts (all traffic at the end of the day).

The law of averages means she'll say something you agree with sooner or later, but I find that it is not a good thing.

If I have an opinion and she agrees, it make me wonder if I was perhaps wrong!

Oh trust me, I have a list longer than Jordan's phone book of exes; I just can't be bothered with the attention seeking troll much any more. The articles are adequately written for the purpose they serve (and will have been edited to within an inch of their life) - but she's hardly a great writer or journalist of great wit or originality - she just trots out any old shit depending on which way the wind is blowing and if it will bring her the most attention humanly possible.

The problem with the people that DO like her is that they throw their toys out of the pram if you suggest that in verifying her views they are actually agreeing with racism, fascism and a whole world of hate. Shame on them is what I say,

Maybe it's me, but I've always thought that she's usually been right in what she's said, and obviously that is only a matter of opinión of course, but I or anyone else aren't going to know how edited her articles are, or whatever, and i imagine if they are edited in any way, wouldn't that be true of all the other writers who write for the DM?

I remember reading an article she wrote about the McCanns a little while ago, and I thought it was very good. Yes, it was damning, but there was a great deal of truth to the article as well.

I know on the forum, posters have often mocked me for agreeing with her, I don't mind that, each to their own, ( we can't all like the same people....! ) but I daresay I wouldn't like anyone calling me a racist just because I happen to agree lots of times with Katie Hopkins.

As the majority of her views are racist and fascist - then - yes. & you yourself said that most of what she writes is 'spot on'. All her hyperbole about cockroaches and Islam (not extremism but Islam) being an evil to society are racist and fascist & that's no more of a sweeping statement than the one you made that people who loathe her now can't find reasons why - which (with respect) is nonsense.

I actually agreed with her views on the McCanns and have held the same view from day 1 of that poor child's disappearance - but a stopped clock is right twice a day - i.e. by the law of averages there had to be an article she wrote that I would agree with. & that one article doesn't change how much I despise her and everything she stands for.

I have read some of her articles but not all, and I certainly don't seek her articles out. One particularly vicious article was written just after Peaches Geldof died. She wasn't even cold in the gave and Hopkins went in for the jugular about how she was a waste of space drug addict (or words to that effect) - absolutely shameful.

As for other writers in the DM - well, Richard Littlejohn, Jan Moir and Sarah Vine all seem to be the holy triumverate of unpleasant hyperbole - so yes, I would agree that the DM per se is made up of right wing idiots.

Hopkins thinks she is the noughties Julie Burchill. The difference is that whilst Burchill is now sadly reduced to trolling, that woman can write and has a beautiful command of the English language and a fantastic gift for prose. Hopkins is just a sub standard hack/troll who is reduced to spouting shit in the absence of any credible business career.

Regarding the cockroach statement, I believe even KH may now regret saying that....and yes, I didn't agree with her using that term, because that must have included women and children in saying that, and that was wrong.

She could have expressed her anti immigration views slightly differently ( which let's face it, the mass immigration that the UK has seen in recent months is quite a problem I would assume....).

I don't think it's controversial to point out the more unsavoury facts of Islam even when that is supposedly moderate Islam, going by the many things they believe in, i.e. their views on women, and punishment and how they view gay people.

And that as you know isn't to do with extreme Islam but moderate Islam, and so for that, I can't see how you think she's wrong when she does highlight how utterly unfair the religion can be to certain types of people.

I didn't read her Peaches Geldof article, though if she had a go at the fact that Peaches Geldof as a mother was doing drugs whilst her children were present, then I would agree that Peaches Geldof was probably not a very good mother and certainly shouldn't have been doing that in front of her kids or in the same house as her kids. And by her actions, she's left her kids without a mother, and i can understand someone not thinking too highly of Peaches Geldof in that respect.

Much the same as Christianity really. When was the last time you saw a gay bishop? But Islam is the trolling cause de jour of course. I am not doubting that extremism is becoming more of a problem - but what is Hopkins doing to help other than fan the flames and get the average DM reader frothing at the mouth?

As for Geldof - well, the fact is that she is dead and she obviously had her demons. I think there are far more people worthy of disdain or judgement than her. But Hopkins wrote that article (IMVHO) because she was owned by PG before her death, in an article on Attachment parenting on This Morning and KH was still seething and desperate for attention - so decided to make the death of a 25 year old woman even more painful for her family and friends. Nice work if you can get it. Bet her children and husband are SO proud of all their Mother has achieved.

Because that's certainly what the above implies.

No, it still would have been a cruel way of describing a group of people, but it'll always seem worse when that description includes women and children ( due to the fact that they wouldn't have made the choice to be on the boats in the first place!)

I can't get into the specifics of religión with you, but at a guess, I'd say that Islam currently is far more backward, conservative, oppressive than Christianity is today.

And maybe KH did actually want to get back at PG, I wouldn't know, but it's easy to say someone has their demons..............that really doesn't hold much water when kids lives are at risk. And if PG was taking drugs whilst caring for her kids, then as far as I'm concerned, she was just no good.
And I'm not being harsh when I say that, but I can't feel sorry or sympathise with her if she put her kids in danger, or allowed her kids to see her high. That would have been really disgusting of her.

I do think that KH could have waited a little while before bringing PG up, as obviously her family could have read the article, and even if the article had delivered some home truths, it was too soon for them to be read about at that point.

'Religionist' is someone who zealously follows a religion so that's actually the reverse of what you're saying.

It never occurred to me that she may be thinking along those lines. She isn't in the same league as Burchill who - even at a young age - was an instinctive, astute and genuinely controversial writer. Hopkins isn't a writer and the crap she comes out with lacks any wit, depth and originality.

I haven't said I wouldn't want to be called a racist, as to me it has no meaning. I know exactly what I am, and if other people see that differently, then that is their problem, it isn't mine. I was referring to someone else by asking them "if someone agrees with Katie Hopkins, then ( in their book) does that automatically mean that person is racist as well".....

It was just that the poster implied that because she feels that KH is racist, then anyone agreeing with her should get that label thrown at them as well, and i just wanted confirmation of that.

By the way, I don't think KH is racist anyway, she may not like extremist muslims, although she's got good reason not to. As have we all.
