Jahmene Douglas signs US record deal
Quote:
We hear you've signed a deal with a US label as well, which sounds very exciting. Read the full interview with Jahmene here. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/s1...#ixzz2ZojIiUPr
"I have! I'm hoping so, gospel is much more suited to America. I'm not forgetting about England though, it's always going to be my home! The US is just a big music place for everyone - I'd be able to be more free out there." |

Even the most successful gospel artist doesn't sell all that much in America. So the barometer for success will be pretty low when it comes to sales numbers.

Yes that's correct , he has already been to New York to record his own stuff . He is going back soon to finish it
![]() Very impressed with his album I have listened to it many times already, it's certainly not a typical cover album despite what those reviews said a few days ago he has made each song his own, I love the stripped back gospel quire rendition of Next To Me. My favorite album from an X Factor contestant.

Good for Jahmene! He has talent and seems like a really nice guy.
Loved his story on X Factor too, so wish him all the best. |

I'm pleased for him I didn't think he would get the opportunity considering he's doing a covers album .

Jahmene Douglas, Avicii lead midweek chart update
Quote:
Jahmene Douglas is on course to claim his first number one album this weekend, while Avicii continues to hold on to the singles top spot. Read more: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/ne...#ixzz2ZyeSuW38
The DJ's global smash 'Wake Me Up' is currently 26,000 copies ahead of its closest rival, which is One Direction's new single 'Best Song Ever'. Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' falls to number three, John Newman's 'Love Me Again' is at four and Icona Pop's 'I Love It' rounds off the Top 5. A number of new entries begin at the lower end of the chart this week, with Nina Nesbitt landing at 39 with 'Way In The World'. Scouting For Girls follow at 44 with 'Millionaire', while Diana Vickers starts at 46 with her new single 'Cinderella'. Elsewhere, Professor Green is at 60 with his new track 'Are You Getting Enough?', which features Miles Kane. Jahmene Douglas shoots to number one on the album chart with his debut collection Love Never Fails, according to the Official Charts Company. The X Factor runner-up has knocked Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines down to two and Jay Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail to three. Passenger is at four with All The Little Lights, while Selena Gomez completes the Top 5 with her new set Stars Dance. Elsewhere, The Rolling Stones are at 15 with new live album Hyde Park Live and F**k Buttons land at 30 with Slow Focus. |
