Not much talk of alcohol in general in this forum so I thought I'd start a thread to explore what people like to buy at the supermarket or when they are on a night out.

What is your favourite alcoholic beverage?
Do you like wine, beer, cider, alcopops?
Loads of breweries have disappeared over time. Are there any particular drinks you miss which aren't around any more.

Typically I like a white wine. Loads to choose from at the supermarket. I like sweet low strength wines however at the moment I'm quite liking viognier variety of wines.

I do also quite like a Smirnoff Ice every now and then too.
I do miss Reefs if anyone remembers them.

I'm a wine girl. I 'like' all three colours but red is definitely my favourite. I also like a couple of pints of lager in a beergarden if its hot, and I'm partial to a vodka and a disaronno too, but not too many or I'll be sick. Baileys at Christmas.

Wow I'm starting to feel guilty now

Nothing to be guilty about. We all like a cheeky drink esp at Christmas and other special occasions.

There is nothing better in this weather to be sitting in the garden enjoying the sun with a cold glass of wine.

Vodka in England. Beer abroad.

I'm a beer drinker mostly. I originally stuck to lager, but I've now branched out into ales.

I do enjoy a Glayva from time to time, especially at Christmas or after a meal out.

Anyone tried Parrot Bay frozen cocktails which I have seen advertised, they look quite nice.

I like white wine with soda water, sometimes rose but never red. I enjoy a nice cold lager or a fruity cider on a sunny day, vodka I also like but the hangovers are awful so I rarely drink it. Saw the parrott bay cocktails advertised and just ordered a few in my shopping for the weekend

Yes, I like these when the weather is hot, they're very nice, especially the red one. You do need to take them out of the freezer 15 minutes or so before use if they're frozen solid though.

The MyCocktail frozen Margaritas and strawberry Daiquiris are good too. They come in packs of 4 and were on offer at £6 a pack in Asda recently.

I love English wine, but it is so expensive so I treat myself once in a while.

Nothing beats a few ice cold guinness in this weather or a few cocktails. My favorite is ..
70cl white/dark rum
20cl vodka
35cl peach schnapps
3-4 pints of pure orange
loads of ice and a pint glass

they are nice but contain no more alcohol than a mild beer, very overpriced and not worth the money.

Cheaper to make them yourself.

I mostly drink liquors. Baileys, Tia Maria, Cointreau, Southern Comfort. Occasionally beer and very rarely wine.

Baileys is a pain because they keep bringing out variations of it that aren't as good. They should stick with what they've got. Cointreau is good because it's made from oranges. If you have a double it counts as one of your five a day.

Vodka red bull.

I am partial to a glass or two of Pinot Grigio.

I also love Prosecco.

Not a fan of red wine but can drink a very light rose.

Beer is for BBQ's (I like something you can stick a lime in so Corona or Sol)

Cocktails are for girls night out. Cosmo or Porn Star Martini for me

Bailey's is for Crimbo

Grey Goose is for when we are rich!

I love booze, but don't partake too often anymore.

Try the "Queen Margot "copy of Baileys from Lidls, same alcohol content and a lot cheaper @ under a fiver a bottle, you would be hard pushed to tell the difference.

we've always got at least 3 bottles of wine in, nothing fancy, just plonk from Tesco usually. We always keep one of those big glass bottles of cloudy cider in, too, mainly for cooking with, but on a warm summer evening, we've been known to knock back a glass or two. Also, I've usually got some Glenmorangie in, it helps when the pain killers don't.

Oh, and occasionally I'll get a bottle of Grass Vodka in, tastes great

Neither of us like beer or lager, so we never have it in, unless I need it for cooking

White wine & rose (the cheaper supermarket plonk does me), lager (never the strong ones, sometimes happy with the weak Skol type), the odd beer like John Smiths, maybe now and then a real ale. Used to drink Vodka quite often when i was younger but those days are long gone, the hangovers were terrible, couldn't handle them now.

Normally:

Guinness Original
Tesco Pear cider (tastes ok and very cheap)
Cains/Thwaites dark mild. (Prefer Cains but it's difficult to get)
Morrisons medium dry cider. (tastes decent and cheap)

That certainly is a very odd beer It's usually considered undrinkable by somebody who's partial to a good real ale.

The drink I have more often is dry white wine, preferably a sauvignon blanc, have it with meals out, just relaxing in the house or going to the pub for a few

If I go on a night out I have cocktails, usually a frozen daquari, either strawberry or mango, a cosmopolitan or a bellini/rossini. I used to drink a lot of vodka, but for some reason it has started to make me feel sick after 2 or 3, no matter what mixers I have with it, so I've started drinking amaretto.

For pre-drinks before I go out or a beer garden/BBQ, I have cider, usually strawberry and lime, mango and raspberry, toffee apple brothers or a bulmers or magners.

Not a fan of lager, but I do have a shandy sometimes or one of those low alcohol ones like Fosters Radler

I like champagne/cava/prosecco for special occasions, as long as it's cold

For bbqs and festivals I fill a big ice chest with ice and lager

Thursday is wine night, we have a bottle or two of red.

Other notable quaffage, quite partial to Red Stag
