No more Mark Strong doing the voiceoever. Shame. He has such a wonderful, soothing voice. But I quite like Cheri Lunghi.

Una Stubbs is delightful.

Lovely as she is, I think the voice is SOOOO 'put on' - no one speaks like that for real!

(plus the beret and belted up mac made her the spitting image of Frank Spencer - what was she thinking of )

Yes its not the same without Mark. I was wondering who the female voiceover was so thanks for that.

yes she has adopted an unusual image - sort of 'arty gran meets Frank Spencer'.

I love this programme, but if she says 'you know' once more......... and I'm afaid she will........

She certainly is - and I can't believe she's 76. That makes me feel very old!

I was all set to post that thankfully she's taken off the bloody awful hat. But next scene it's back again

Every time I see her I picture her with cliff.... She is too sweet... But it's interesting as she seems to know nothing about her family

Una's voice doesn't bother me. I'm used to her speaking like that in real life!

She talked like that back when she did Give Us a Clue - I remember seeing the early ones on UK Gold years ago and I remember thinking how different her voice was from what it was in Till death ...! lol
So I'm used to her voice and her manner cos it's what she is!

And she seems a lovely lady. And looks great for her age!

You've got to laugh at her mannerisms. I lol'd when she grabbed her big flowery hankie on the train to cry. She's such a luvvie. Bless.

This is turning out like my great-grandmother. She had 3 illies before she decided to go down the aisle! One of the fathers was literally the postman!

Luckily there was no workhouse involved, her own mother died young and too many kids for the dad to look after so she spent her life at her uncle's who also took in other cousins and what not over the years.

I must be dense, cos I don't see any of that. She just acts like a lot of people on this programme do when they find things out about their past, when it gets a bit emotional!

Though in Till Death she was cockney wasn't she? A bit more 'common' than her real voice! That's what I meant by her sounding different to me when I heard her on Give us a clue.

I love her voice!

Being mean to Una is not going to get you on my crimbo card list.

She's always been a bit precious, girly girl, soppy, and dainty.

She's not putting it on.

It's a good start to the series.

She reminds me of a 1920's silent film actress.

Nigel Havers next week should be fun as well. Looking forward to that one.
Wonder how many people complain HE acts like a luvvie throughout!

I'm loving this one. I think it's a bit mean for people to have a go at Una for being emotional cos she's finding out things she's never known all her life.

Yes u r right she was cockney in that but she has always had that breathy type of voice. I think she is being quite genuine in this bless her.

I'm also warming to Cherie Lunghi. If was a bit of shock at the beginning when Mark wasnt doing it.

I think so too. And I doubt anyone's watched her on telly doing anything other than interviews, so I don't know how people can say she's acting when we're seeing her as herself finding out about her past.
