I think they mentioned a daughter. Her name is Susan.

Thanks for a straight answer.
How do people know this stuff about Minnie's family?
I'm guessing it's been covered in the tabloids or something.
They mentioned Sir Wilshaw in the programme.

Minnie has the best laugh ever. It seems her son has inherited it.

Her kid hasn't inherited her good looks, he looks like a refugee from The Bash Street Kids, who's the daddy ?
She's never revealed who the father is. However she did say he was writer on The Riches, a show that she was in back in '07.

That narrows it down to Aaron Blitzstein and Dmitry Lipkin, whose married.

Just been reading this online :

First wife Annie only discovered that her husband had a secret family after attending a polo match in Windsor with her daughter Susan. An acquaintance remarked to her daughter: “How delightful to see the family all together - you and your half-sisters.” Annie divorced him soon after

When he suffered a heart attack in 2009, aged 87, he was attended in hospital by Minnie, sister Kate and their mother Gaynor, his second wife Misty, their son Charles, now 28, and his eldest daughter Susan.

So they have met.

Couple of comments here.

A poster said that Minnie's Mother was a looker - dead right, she was a stunning older lady, must have been gorgeous in her youth

Also I watched this with a jaundiced view, not particularly liking Minnie Driver but she bowled me over within about 10 minutes, I thought she was a lovely person and completely made me do a 180.

Good programme

Her mother was a top model and her father put her up in a Mayfair apartment.

I wonder what year the wife found out, must have been after Minnie was born. Gaynor said they split after 13 years that's 1975 when Minnie was 5, if he was divorced why didn't they marry or live together.

I see Gaynor married in 1976.

Interestingly Charles engagement was announced in the Times and one month later he was getting married, in a chapel at St Paul's. In both announcements he is 'Driver DFM' but in the description of the marriage the DFM is dropped.

The bride's tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of of orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of odontoglossum orchids, pink roses & carnations and stephanotis.

What's DFM?

Same here. Never liked her (probably jealous that she let Matt Damon get away) but I thought she was captivating. But I SO wanted to know more about what happened with the father and the other family

She came across really well. Much better than the awful Havers episode.

Why does Minnie Driver keep referring to her Grandfather as "Dad"?

I had to look up her date of birth to make sure I wasn't hearing things...

She's at it again: Dad and Heligoland
Photo: My Grannie and my Dad????? Did he die in WW2 or not???

Dad was born in 1921.. I really don't understand

"Look at your lovely house" How condescending is that from someone who has thousands of square feet in Hollywood

No, he didn't die in WW2. He died relatively recently. Minnie Driver, as she said, was the same generation as the old biddy she went to see because of the ages people were when they had children.

The photo was of Minnie's granny and Minnie's dad, i.e. her dad and his mother.

I didn't think it sounded condescending she sounded genuinely interested.

I agree, not condescending at all- I think she genuinely appreciated being invited into the woman's home and complimented it accordingly.

Of course, she'd have faced as much criticism if she'd walked in and announced "bit poky in here isn't it? My house in LA has three pools".

The age gap thing is the same in my family. I'm 21, but have a second cousin who is 73. My mum had me relatively late (38) whereas my cousin was born when my great aunt (his mum) was 17.

Minnie Driver is also a very good singer. She toured with Neil Finn a few years ago, and she came across on stage as very down-to-earth and not at all starry.

I'm sure it's the same in most families: I am older than one of my uncles

Couldn't agree more. Not condescending at all, like when she turned up with the plant and biscuits. I thought that was a lovely thing to do! As someone said, no one else has ever done something like that when turning up to meet a relative they'd never met before.

I remember when Emilia Fox did hers and everyone was saying what a lovely person she came across as. Same with Minnie.
