Padding it with match of the day stuff? Ridiculous! We know he's on match of the day and some of us don't watch it! BBC need to take control of this programme. Dangerous to leave the celeb lead it cos some are so boring. Lucky good old Alan Shearer was there cos the other people didn't seem too bothered when Linekar turned up!

They obviously don't have enough interesting info to fill up an hour so we get match of the day!

I can't believe Michael Parkinsons family history was even duller than this one. It couldn't possibly be as dull as this one.

I have always enjoyed this programme, but not tonight. Gary seems to think it's funny that his ancestor turned to poaching.
When it was pointed out that this man had no education, the cottage industry he worked in had crashed and there was no welfare state, he still seemed amused. He stole to feed his family, people were starving in those days. Meanwhile the landowners and fat cats of the day got fatter and richer at the expense of the poor. Even after being told how hard times were, he still described the poor man as a comical character. Pathetic. I turned off. |

what a pity the programme isn't about the last few years of Gary's life. Just think of all the wonderful personalities. Mrs. Lineker the 1st, then the 2nd, probably posing in her underwear, and all the lovely ladies in between. Who Were They? would be a good title. Then there's his son who got his father to say he'd failed the exams because of poor teaching (everybody else had of course passed). Yes, present day Lineker much more interesting than this sanitised dull story

I think the guy lacks any imagination. Either that or he only identifies with the fat cats. Still, at least he didn't say 'Let them eat crisps.'

I've got a new Walkers crisps flavour "Boredom & Yawning", or how about "Philandering & Litigation"

What a completely pointless episode. Surely they could have found someone with a more interesting story than this.
